Munoz got his NCAA Division II record less than five minutes into the game.

The senior from Chino, Calif., buried a 3-pointer from the left wing at 15:39. It was his first 3-pointer of the game and 444th of his career. The previous NCAA Division II record was 443.

Munoz would add four more to finish with 17 points. His final 3-pointer came as the shot clock expired late in the game.

"If it was going to happen, it was going to happen," Munoz said of the national record. "I can't press. I can't let that stuff affect my game.

"It's something I'll look back on my career, when I'm done for a long time and enjoy. Now my focus is Saturday night to play St. Edward's and win the conference championship."

The teams were tied 34-34 at halftime. MSU-B took the lead for good early in the second half, 37-36, on a Buddy Windy Boy 3-pointer.

The senior from Lodge Grass scored 16 of his team-high 18 points in the second half. That included three consecutive 3-pointers and going way up to put back a tip-in off a miss.

"I was fortunate to get some things going in the second half," Windy Boy said. "We just had to play defense. Focus on the defense and the offense will come."

Moritz Wohlers posted another double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Carlin Hughes also had 17 points.

MSU-B led by as many as 19, 68-49, with a little more than six minutes remaining in the game.

"We knew we had to play both ends of the floor," said Munoz. "In the first half, we had some solid moments, but in the second half, our defense really picked up. We got in the passing lanes and put pressure on the ball."

The Yellowjackets scored 18 points on 21 OPSU turnovers.

Eddie Moss led the Aggies with 18 points -- including all four of his 3-pointers -- but had just four points in the second half.

"I thought Jonathan Wiley's defense on Moss was phenomenal," said Craig Carse, the MSU-B head coach.

Just a week ago, the Aggies shut down MSU-B, 80-60, in Goodwell, Okla.

"Down in Oklahoma, I don't know if our minds were totally there," Windy Boy said. "The difference tonight was everybody came ready to play."

Aaron Harrison added 12 points for OPSU while William Preston had 10.

That's nice and all, but do you really think he could get off a shot in the ACC? Perspective, please

Get a shot off? Heck, I could get a shot off. But I couldn't hit 444 3's in my High School career. 444 3's at any level requires some kind of skill. :thumb:

Cameron Munoz is a great shooter. One of his bombs was at least 25'. The Okie Panhandler State coach was pissed.

Thats what MSU-B does. They shoot threes. First person open, shoots. Apparently he can get open, then he shoots. If he shoots 50% then that means he took almost 900 threes. Thats a lot of shots in a 4 year career.

Last I checked, Bozeman doesn't play Div. II basketball and aren't called the Yellowjackets. Regardless, it's that tiny Billings school.

Doesn't MSU-Billings have a new kid set this record pretty much every other year?

It's impressive, but they shoot a lot of 3's in that offense. I know there have been better shooters who just didn't get the opportunity to take as many shots.

It's kind of cool, but MSU-Billings 3-point records are a little deceiving.

Yeah, that tiny school that MSU or UM won't play. :finger:

Carse has tried to set a game up w/ either and neither would commit. Guess they like playing UGF, MT Tech and the likes.... :lame:

I would rather we schedule up, not down. If they are so damn good why don't they go D1. I could care less if we play Tech or anyone like that. You could say the same freaking thing about bigger schools not wanting to schedule the Griz, trust me it happesn, the Griz just don't whine about it in the paper each year. If these kids are so good they wouldn't be playing where they are. Nice try though

I had actually heard from a connection in Billings that there was some thought to the idea of going Division 1 for MSU-Billings. Over recent years they have added baseball, softball and the like. Moreover the connection mentioned to me that if certain things were to occur Billings may consider at some point in the near future of bringing back football as a sport at Billings.

I don't know how legitimate that is, but I would at least throw that out there. Seems these days, that it is either get big in college athletics or get out, and contraction no longer seems to be the name of the game at MSU-B. In anycase I know this is a bit off topic, sorry.

Congrats to the kid for the achievement.

GB1, you wanna fight? :thumb:

I point of the thread is some kid playing college ball in MT has had a pretty good career. Wether it be UM, MSU-B, or Dawson...have fun :tounge: w/ it, would ya.

Why would UM want to play MSU-B? It's totally pointless. They play Great Falls as a warm up for the season. Just like Iowa is doing with the Griz football team, atleast thats how Iowa sees it. There is no point in playing MSU-B. What happens if UM wins, nothing, what happens if MSU-B actually wins, nothing. And the whole :finger: was stupid, and you are :lame:. Kinda funny when you look at things, that one of the best players in Griz BB history, supposedly wasnt good enough for the MSU-B coach.

Lighten up Francis. The thread is about the kid making all the 3's.

Agreed w/ Turd, no way in he!! will MSU-B ever be D-1. Their facilities suck. :twocents:

Just a question here, not trying to put him down. But, how did he end up at MSU-B anyways? Sounds like some pretty good talent to not go D-1.
