I wouldn't want to try to sway anyone but you should get the numbers straight. The current WAC contract is not great but it is for 4 million per year. There are a guaranteed 16 football games to be broadcast with 10 on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2 and the balance on ESPNU. Every school will appear at least once. There is also BCS bowl money that is coming even if no team is in the games. The SEC really get the bulk of the TV money with a 200 million dollar contract. Those that think that Boise State or Montana could not compete with that kind of cash is crazy. The big BCS conferences make their money from TV and steal the best of coaches from the rest. Put either Boise State or Montana in the SEC and after 5 years of the payout from the TV and BCS bowl games, either could recuit and steal coaches as well as any in the SEC. Why wouldn't they?
Those that believe the talent is so great in the BCS conferences should take note that Boise State had two players start in this year's NFL Pro Bowl game. How many did any Pac 10 team have?
The absolute worst nightmare for the BCS, and the the TV networks that are funding them, would be for Boise State to win the BCS championship next year and it is possible. Don't miss the VT/BSU game from Washington D.C. Labor Day. IF BSU wins that game, all games other than the Wyoming game will be on national TV. MWC has a deal with CBS and I would think that the Wyoming game will be on a national hook up also. I don't really beleive that the Broncos will have another season of winning every game but until they lose, they will draw such big viewer ratings that ABC will not be able to ignore them. If BSU were to win the BCS Championship, say goodby to the BCS and hello to a playoff. So, if you love the BCS as it is, root against the Broncos.
