I think there are some people out there who do not believe the investigation of the football program is over. I think there are some out there whose agenda is to see to it that UM athletics, specifically UM football, is on permanent probation. Those people with the agenda will be attempting, on a permanent basis, to entice the NCAA to investigate again/further. The heat is on UM now in the form of NCAA probation and other sanctions and the 'agenda crowd' wants to see that continue indefinitely.
I think there are some out there who are going to scrutinize everything that goes on regarding UM athletics and pounce on anything and everything they think is or should be a 'violation'. No, I don't mean the MSU crowd, I mean the same crowd that was unhappy with the trial verdict and the same crowd that was unhappy with decision regarding the Board of Regents appointment.
I think it is their objective to try to keep UM on probation now that UM is on probation. They may or may not succeed but they will keep a watchful eye on things and keep a list. When that list gets to a certain point, they will make a call or send an email to the NCAA and say, "Hey, guess what NCAA, we have some information for you!"
Does that mean that information is worthy of another investigation? Maybe, maybe not - who knows? Many people apparently think the recent investigation was basically an attempt to find something when there was nothing substantive there, yet it ended in 3 years probation and other meaningful sanctions.
So, if that's the standard for the NCAA beginning an investigation (nothing substantive there to begin with) and it's really the case that there was nothing there at the conclusion of the investigation yet there were sanctions issued, then it would seem that it wouldn't take much for the NCAA to show back up in Missoula now that UM is on probation. In other words, I would think the standard for opening another investigation now that UM is already on probation would be lower than the standard was for starting the recently concluded investigation when UM was not on probation.
I think the 'agenda crowd' knows that and intends to take advantage of it. It's how they do things. jmho
