I said couldn't he have gotten touches OTHER ways besides catching. I assume you'd know that running is a good way to get touches other than passing. He proved he was ok in that role the year prior correct? Is there nothing that could be done to get him more than 3 touches a game? That seems scary to me.
I thought Ifanse got a good amount of carries in his only three games of action this year. Don't mind him leaving. Guessing he'll test his luck in FBS but who knows. Nothing bad to say about the kid. He was incredible.

Our regular running backs are better. They weren’t available last year. Again, he was hurt. I think people who talk touches in college football are clueless. He had way more than 3 touches per game.

You could be right on that PR. I never checked how many touches he had. Trusted AZ though. Assume it’s on the interwebs.
Let’s say you’re correct. Your listed running backs were way better than Bergan. No way he could crack that lineup.
So you list him as WR. Don’t give him touches there. Then he’s hurt and has a soft cast. So now there’s nothing anyone can do to get the ball in his hands?
We can go back and forth if you’d like. My only point is I love Bergan, griz or not; I think he can make plays for any offense regardless of what position he’s listed at; and I think the offense he plays on would be much better if he had the ball in his casted arms more.
As a griz fan, would you have not liked to see him have the ball in his hands more?

Hey PR you may be right. I don't have a dog in the fight. I guess I'll just say if I was a Griz fan, I'd be hoping and praying that Bergan is as content with his involvement as you seem to be. Apparently there was no way to get the ball in his hands. As a Cat fan I pray that's true. But as a fan of the kid himself, I wish he was on a team that found ways to use him. Especially after his 2021 season.mthoopsfan said:ilovethecats said:Yikes. Where to start.

I was fine with the season except Johnson getting hurt.

I agree that he needs touches, but not the number, more quality touches. I hate when talking heads say that so and so needs touches. 5 high quality touches that leads to big plays or scores makes much more impact than 10 touches that lead to a total of 1 first down. I think really what needs to happen is the coaches need to put the big play kids in positions to make their touches high quality.

And I think “big play kids” MAKE their touches high quality. But when they get less than 3 a game, it’s tough to make much out of that.

Don’t care. Would like if he hadn’t been hurt, tho. Do u know that Bergan wasnt a starter?
Well yes. I think if any coach knew that a player was going to get a big play or a score they’d give them the ball every play. And both player and coach would be in the hall of fame.AZDoc said:ilovethecats said:Hey PR you may be right. I don't have a dog in the fight. I agree Bergen needs to be leveraged better. But this just in, neither PR nor Bobby call the plays.ilovethecats said:Personally, for the Griz I think that guy could be Bergan. PR and Bobby obviously feel differently which is more than ok to me.

He never touched the ball against the Cats, then again we never made them punt.
