Montana's Anderson looking good.

"His 4.42-second 40-yard dash at last month’s NFL scouting combine was … the fifth-fastest 40 at the combine by any player over 240 pounds since 2003”

"His unofficial times of 3.99 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle and 6.72 in the three-cone drill would’ve been the fastest by far among linebackers who did those events at the combine.”

[Those times were smoking fast, but note that few LB ran those events at the Combine (so that last comment may not mean much).]

they are fast by any position standards. going back to 2014 only jordan tripp had a faster 20y shuttle (3.96) but was slower everywhere else. TA's times are impressive and those are in all among top times historically for lb's.

The cowboy sounded a little off in today’s paper.

Like he acknowledged the bobcats suck:

You play at Montana State, and I think we play good football here, and you're like, ‘Maybe.’

And he’s not even 100% healthy:

Andersen slightly “dinged” his shoulder at the Senior Bowl, he said. That prevented him from training for the 225-pound bench press as much as he’d like, so he chose to skip that event in both the combine and Pro Day.

Is that the same shoulder that has bothered him his whole career? Didn’t he have surgery already and he always wore a brace?

Sounds like he’s already tired and could not even complete the events at the combine:

I was pretty worn out,” he said… so I was like, ‘I’ll just wait to do it in Bozeman.’”

Not a good look for MSpoo. Is he kind of a drama queen? He wears Cher boots, so he looks the part, but does he act it too? I have no idea but someone mentioned he was an FCS special teamer who comes with some baggage. Is that true? I have no idea. Do a lot of those kind of FCS guys get drafted early?

He will. 2nd or early 3rd rounder. I hate the scats but like a lot of their players.

I see that TA made the bottom of the 2d round in Mel Kiper's recent mock draft.

He has him 58th pick overall to Falcons. Falcons are in rebuild mode and have 5 draft picks in the top 82. With a young roster he could be playing a lot right away if this happens.

Why would Atlanta waste such a high pick on a player who has no chance of starting right away? :coffee:

They saw his Rockin R spot and knew that would play well in Atlanta? They saw another player that grew up in Montana like Kroy Biermann that could potentially find a wife and be a cast member on another season of Real Housewives of Atlanta? Or the freakish athlete thing? :)

Late fourth/early fifth. Maybe.

I was just listening to Moving The Chains on NFL Network (SiriusXM). Pat Kirwin who was a former NFL executive and long time scout had him at 68th which is early 3rd Round toTexans. He also said that he could see a team that really wants him taking him in the top 40 if they feel he won't be around later. His words were "he is that impressive of an athlete." I don't think there is anyway he ends up being around still at the end of the 3rd round.

It will be fun to see how all the posters on here do on their prediction of the round Troy gets picked!

I’ll be in shambles if I’m wrong. Probably never recover. You’ll be able to take a victory lap and bask in the glory of your accomplishment.

It will be sad to see how quickly he snaps in two when playing in his first NFL camp.

There’s a LOT of miles on that frame…

i can already see it - "we are the champions" plays, while bigsky33 celebrates with glee at troy andersen's selection as the 62nd pick of the 2022 nfl draft.

he'll get picked on early. in coverage.

Most rookies do.

Most NFL players do. Honestly if he plays a step below Ray Lewis in any game some folks on this forum will rip him. He is probably the best Montana raised kid to enter the NFL draft ever. We should all cheer for him even if he made one unfortunate decision as a senior to become a Cat.
