Criswell was a Holst recruit, but you are right, Kennedy did put together a good group of kids. In my opinion he just didnt know how to coach from the heart. Gut check stuff.

Criswell was a walk on for Holst, Kennedy gave him his scholarship.NativeGriz said:Criswell was a Holst recruit, but you are right, Kennedy did put together a good group of kids. In my opinion he just didnt know how to coach from the heart. Gut check stuff.

Thanks MGR, I thought I heard it was the first thing Kennedy did, but I wasn't for sure, and it sounds like you know for sure, so I will retract my statement.Montana Gym Rat said:Grizbeer said:Criswell was a walk on for Holst, Kennedy gave him his scholarship.NativeGriz said:Criswell was a Holst recruit, but you are right, Kennedy did put together a good group of kids. Criswell walked on for Holst and Holst promised him a scholarship after his redshirt year. Kevin had his scholarship before Kennedy got there.
I've heard Sampson say one of the last things they did in that office was get Kevin's scholarship lined up.

What a great win tonight for the guys, wherever they end up playing I'll be there. Anybody else plan on making the trip? Could be Charlotte, Indianapolis, maybe somewhere else? I'm just so happy for the team, only one of 5 teams now in Griz history to make it to the dance....very special company. These are the memories they will be telling their kids about someday.

Will they be telling their kids how in the first round they were pumelled out of existence?
Some legacy!

I'm puzzled. In another post, you referred to gonzaga as being an up and coming program in a better conference (or something to that extent), wasn't it just five years ago or so that no one outside of the northwest had heard anything about gonzaga. It took a showing in the NCAA's (where no one expected them to do anything) to get people's interest in the school and basketball program. They're still in a conference, correct me if i'm wrong, whose top competition is Pepperdine (where i've attended so i can bash) and Santa Clara (who lowered themselves to play a Big Sky team-Montana nonetheless, yes thats sarcasm). Basically, my point is that the exposure is good for Montana, good for the basketball program, and good for the Big Sky.
Personally, I'm looking forward to our matchup where we'll probably get killed by 35, but this was the goal of the griz bball team this year, what else can you ask for? And maybe, we could pull a gonzaga at the tournament, you never know. Judge at the end of the season, we've got another game to play.
