Montana vs. South Dakota Game Thread

Jesus Christ....

If I didn't watch the game and just looked at the stats, I would have expected a 30+ point blowout.

We had 568 yards, but it certainly didn't feel like it. :lol:

Good win, and I'm really excited for next week's game. :thumb:

Gotcha...Like someone said earlier, the technology shouldn't be that damn difficult to stream the game for those who aren't in Montana.
 
Congrats Griz. Thought maybe we had you on the ropes after the pick 6 but our inability to stop your offense finally caught up with us. I think you time of possession the 2nd half was 21 minutes plus.

Watched the game on SD NBC affiliate who picked up the Montana broadcast. Wouldn't say they did a fantastic job, but overall both the video quality was decent and the announcers seemed to have done some homework on the Yotes.

Good luck against Appy State next weekend and in the Big Sky regular season. Looking forward to catching the game in person when the Grizz come to the DakotaDome
 
Like a few have said, Trent looked good. I think he looked better than JJ did in his first start. If he can stay healthy I think he has a great future as a griz. Good first game to work out the kinks. Hope the Appy game goes a bit better with fewer mistakes!
 
Didn't Growler say we weren't going to have a huge running day?

I'd bet his offense would have put up 600 yards, instead of 568.

The South Dakota defense was pathetic. Overall South Dakota is not a very good team. The Griz will have to step it up against App. St. for sure. Mckinney is going to get killed if they have him running the ball that often. The Griz were one dimesnional with an excellent run game and no passing game. Dan Moore reminds me of a bison on the rampage the way he runs. I wouldn't want to have to tackle him. Should be an interesteing year i

Yeah....really one-dimensional. :roll:

Would have been closer to 280 passing had Saylor not dropped the sure TD.

wierd thing is...it seemed one dimentional. Run the ball and throw screens did not make for the two headed monster it really was. TM threw a great ball to Saylor and it went just off his fingertips. I hope they go more downfield against APP because when they look at film of this game they will sell out to stop the run against a RS QB. Good first win with a lot of young guys. They could have folded after falling behind but kept their heads and finished strong! :thumb:

You guys fu$#!ng suck! Are you kidding me? South Dakota played us WAY better than Bob'scat did in Blozeman last season. Trent Mckinney has ALL day to throw the ball and the Griz actually have a running game. How much time did black Jesus have to throw the ball against a Junior Fu$k!ng High defense? You have NO run game between the tackles and NO pass protection i.e. your O-line licks balls. Your best receiver can't catch his a$$ with both hands (sucks not having Elvis doesn't it?). That was not a playoff team I watched good thing you don't play anyone in your non-conference this season. Can't wait to to watch the Griz shove it up your a$$ sideways AGAIN in Missoula this season.
 
Good game, guys. Lots of positives. Keep improving!

My biggest concern is in our passing route potential, but we did what was necessary to keep our freshman QB in his comfort zone, initially taking what they gave us on the perimeter and maintaining a strong rushing attack. Next week is the real test, and we'll need to display more dimensions to keep from hitting a brick wall, but I'm confident we can. Great to see Montana football again.

Colter is a Grizzly--he is objective. I think Chadron would beat South Dakota. South Dakota was bad. If Trent runs the ball like he did today he won't last long. App. St. will be a huge step up for you guys!
