Blocked shots: UM 1 (Qvale), Nevada 4 (Burton 2).
Steals: UM 6 (Qvale 2), Nevada 5 (Burton 2, Story 2).
Officials: Vern Harris, Jimmy Casas, D.G. Nelson.
Attendance: 4,408.
Tinkle said in the Missoulian that UM played horribly defensively. But scoreing just 66 points seems more like they played horribly offensively. UM shot just 39% from the floor, 64% from the FREE THROW line, and a poor 27% from 3-pt range, with 15 turnovers.
Need to improve:
Cherry shot 29% from the floor, 44% from FREE THROW line, and was 0-3 from 3 pt-line
Wood was 0-4 from the field for 0%
Selvig shot 29% from the field
Steward shot 29% from the field
Hutchinson shot 0% from the CHARITY stripe
Cherry is 4 for 17 from the FREE THROW line so far (0-8 and 4-9). That's 24%!!! Can we get a crippled 90 year old from the bleachers to shoot for him? That's a light-hearted joke folks. But none-the-less that is not acceptable.
