Ok, I'll play that game...

Here's a list of false starts for both stadiums, including delay of game penalties due to crowd noise in 2014:

Washington-Grizzly Stadium:
Central Washington - 2
South Dakota - 2
Northern Colorado - 7
UC Davis - 0
Sacramento State - 2
Montana State - 1
San Diego - 5

Total: 7 games, 19 false starts, including delay of game penalties.

Fargodome:
Incarnate Word - 1
Montana - 2
Southern Illinois - 0
Indiana State - 3
South Dakota State - 0
Youngstown State - 1
South Dakota State - 4
Coastal Carolina - 3
Sam Houston State - 3

Total: 9 games, 17 false starts, including delay of game penalties

Even with two more home games than Montana had, NDSU was still two false starts short of Montana. If you take away the last two home games that NDSU had, NDSU would have only had 11 false starts in 7 games to Montana's 19. Stats don't lie. Washington-Grizzly Stadium is clearly louder than the Fargodome.

False starts/delay of game penalties are a decent indicator of noise level in a stadium, but do you know what is an even better indicator of noise levels in a stadium? Studies that include equipment specifically designed to measure noise levels.

Go stand in a grain silo and yell...than stand in a swimming pool and yell....tell me which one an instrument is going to pick up on better.....once you get to a certain noise level it doesn't matter anymore...its how suffocating a stadium feels that's more affective than 2-3 decibels.

I'm not arguing which is stadium provides more of a home field advantage. Obviously both teams have done VERY well at home. My response was only to get'em_griz, who said that "Washington-Grizzly Stadium is clearly louder than the Fargodome." I just provided the proof that his statement was not accurate. Nothing more. I don't know each team's record in their respective stadiums, so I can't say which provides more of a home field advantage. Even if I did take the time to look up the records, simply looking at wins and losses (or penalties against the opposing teams) does not tell the entire story. You would need to take into account how good those teams are without the home field advantage (or how many penalties the opposing teams typically have), and even with that, it is still somewhat subjective.

Well, this IS eGriz, so subjectively Wa/Griz is louder than NoDak's grain silo.

I am a Cobber. I student taught at Ben Franklin Jr. High in Fargo. I do not remember a Fargo Dome or a Fargo Barn. I must be too old.

Fly fishing the Blackfoot has been on my shit to do list for a few years now. Finally have an excuse to get up there and give it a go.
