I agree with that statement. Especially when will is in and Stockton is playing 2 guard. Kareem's D would be just as good and he already does everything else better.

When Cherry is out, Stockton pretty much has to play point though until someone steps up. Good thing Cherry averages 34 minutes.

Hmmm, the coaching staff seems to disagree. I'll side with them on this one.

Certainly a very understandable disagreement. Both seem to play solid D and neither of them would probably be considered lock down defenders yet. I would say it is close and could go either way. Art seems to do the best job of locking down guards if Cherry isn't on them.

Do you also think Stockton is a better 2 guard than Kareem Jamar? With will out I can understand the point guard situation. People will always disagree, especially on close calls, but Stockton starting at the 2 over Kareem doesn't really seem close to me.

If everyone is healthy I definitely go with Qvale, Selvig, Steward, Jamar, and Cherry starting and playing the most minutes if foul trouble doesn't force a change.

What fun are sports boards if fans can't disagree with each other and occasionally even coaches?

I feel Stockton fits well at the two guard, especially when he uses his cutting ability when opposing defenses turn away from him. Selvig has found him a bunch. Either line up can work depending on matchups down the road.

I have no problems with Stockton getting significant minutes. Since he started getting quality minutes he's been a nice surprise for the Griz.

He did have some trouble guarding Beitzel vs UNC the other day though. That's to be expected though since there aren't many people out there that can shut him down. Steward did a hell of a job guarding Beitzel though, and I hope if we run into UNC again in the Tournament that they'll stick Art on him for most of the game.

Art did a great job guarding Beitzel (quick and bigger). Shawn had a spell in the 2nd half where Beitzel lit him up. It wasn't for Shawn's lack of effort, Beitzel is just quicker. He had no trouble shooting over Shawn.
