got a bad feeling this week. hope i'm wrong. 35-30 SD.

As do I, Yukon....worse than I felt about the Sac State game before kickoff. I was worried as soon as the schedule was released seeing us finish the year w/three of our final four on the road....brutal.

One thing I'm hangin my hopes on is the Coyote offense doesn't put up a lot of points. I'm still nervous though. Joe will have his team ready.

They only average 18 points per game. I don't really get all the hand wringing over this one. :?

I can't speak for anyone else but I'm nervous for every game, except maybe before we played those poor guys from the Oklahoma Panhandle.

They put up more points on YSU than any other FCS team has this year. I believe there's been a QB change as well, which has resulted in a more efficient/effective offense. Of course, YSU did turn the ball over 3 times....

Don't get me wrong, it's college football and anything can happen, but I think the defense will be keyed up and ready to atone for the ass-whooping they've taken in the last two games. Of course, that's what I told myself after the EWU game...

YSU turned the ball over 3 times in they're half of the field yielding 17 pts and still won. 34-17 equals usd avg. per game of 18. Well close. Guess we better not turn the ball over huh. ;)
Go Griz!!

Good point. Watch the game highlights in the link Ranco provides above. Youngstown's QB appears to give them two choice fumbles while being sacked. Not sure about the third one. Though the game wasn't just one of turnovers. The 'new' So Dakota QB appears mobile (darn it) and he made several very nice throws. Still turnovers may be key.

So far this year the Grizzlies have many take aways (+16?), yet they've also been guilty of fumbling too. So we just can't have a bad game in that regard. Especially deep on our side of the field as in the two we gave NAU and EWU inside our twenty, or JJ's on the goal line vs Poly. IF the Griz don't have turnovers they will do well at South Dakota. They certainly aren't a bad team. It is just if our kids play clean (ie... no turnovers & few penalties) we won't keep SD in it as Youngstown had. :ugeek:

I've read where some on here have a bad feeling in they're gut. I actually have a good feeling this week. I really think this team is going to play well on both sides of the ball and get a w in Vermillion. It is exactly what this team needs to turn the corner heading into the last two games of the season. Not to mention a good chance of getting a playoff spot. We need this game and they know it.

Riiiiiiiight Azgriz...because 98% of the griz fans on here don't have a pithy little comment about the Scats, kitties, etc. Don't be a tool man.

Don't blame others for your own behavior, and don't try to justify bad behavior with 'but everybody else does it'.

Back on topic - I wish we could traded coaches at the end of this game. Griz will probably roll, 38-17.

Agreed (mostly). I'm one who never takes a Griz win for granted. I don't think even Weber State is a gimme. Further, South Dakota began putting things together so that is a concern. None the less, I too have a feeling this is the week where our team has a consistent effort on both sides of the ball. Even as tense and sometimes sloppy the past 3 weeks have been, those games have still shown our team what they can accomplish against long odds; win a lost game vs Poly, almost dig out of an impossible hole vs EWU, and hold off a determined rally vs Sac State. These Griz need to win and they know they can win. I think this is the weekend where they play the complete game and get ready to finish strong. Go Griz.

This game is hard to peg. USD has been kind of inconsistent this year. They barely squeaked by UC Davis 10-7 to start off the year but had a better showing than the Griz against NAU, only falling 22-16 in Flagstaff.

Last year, they came into WaGriz and played quite respectively only losing 35-24 despite giving up big days to Nguyen and a healthy Dan Moore. Yes, the Griz had one of their worst years in a long time last year but at the beginning of the season the Griz were playing alright until they lost their mojo/belief about halfway through the season (or midway through the NAU game).

This year the game is in the DakotaDome where USD has like a 44-9 or .83 win percentage since '03. I will be very happy with a win over USD and would consider it to be one of UM's best wins to this point along with the Cal Poly game. I do expect a win this weekend. That being said, I also wouldn't be surprised if the game is close or they even upset the Griz. Just depends on which version of the Griz and which version of the Coyotes show up on Saturday.

I think we simply need to play a clean game, no turnovers and don't shoot ourselves in the foot when we have momentum.

Griz 40
Screaming dogs 24

This is the most important game of the year.
Solidifies the playoffs (we won't lose to weber at home).

It would be nice to not repeat 2010 and make the brawl a do or die...

Gotta get this HUGE road win agianst a VERY dangerous USD team.

Griz: 33
Coyotes: 28

GO GRIZ

LOL I just picked the Griz to win 33-27. Think its going to be a close hard fought game with offensive spurts and some defensive stands by both teams. And may just come down to whose kicker steps up and splits the uprights under pressure.

Be interesting to see the intensity SD brings after an emotional game against a conferense rival which took away any chances at a Coyote playoff berth. No doubt Glenn will have his team ready to go, but will they be able to maintain the intensity over 4 quarters. I expect a close game till the end, but having a feeling the Griz will pull away late.

GRIZ - 41

South Dakota - 28
