Montana should set up a home and home with Marshall. A trip back to Huntington WV where we won our first natty would be sweet.

And if you could get a respectable Sun Belt FBS team to come into WaGriz would be a great get as well. Not likely they'd come play us in Missoula though.

What's the point, they'd just pluck some QB and WR out of the Portal. They learned from the 1995 Home Loss, and got Eric Kresser and Randy Moss. Trivia Question: How many times in the 1996 game did Kresser throw a TD to Randy Moss?

Answer: 4 (in Bold print)

Montana (Division I-AA National Championship)

We got Mossed in that one alright.
I wish we could do it because of that line in the 30 for 30 film Rand University where he is sitting in his uniform hours before the game saying, "I hate Montana."
I bet he hates Samori Toure for taking away that single game receiving yardage total too.
Not seeing that matchup happening though.

It was because of this game that I told everyone that would listen in the Vikings org to take Randy Moss in the 1998 draft, if he was available. He was supposed to go much higher but his FSU behavior caused a lot of teams to turn away from him. There were a lot of people in the Vikings organization that wanted Vonnie Holliday or Tebucky Jones at 21.

I would prefer a H & H with App State.

Not to mention his Notre Dame debacle.
We did App State already, right before they bounced with Georgia Southern. Another potential team in this category, but they just won't do our H in the H&H.
GSU was the first championship game I went to, and it always hurts me it came down to the run that wasn't stopped and the pass that wasn't caught.

We should do more home and homes with North Dakota State. They probably would come to Missoula and the Fargo Dome is cool as well.
Hauck talked about this the last time we went to Fargo for a playoff game and Entz gave his version too that the two schools had made efforts to do something but just had not been able to get together on it. There is room to put it on the schedule as early as 28-29 and if both teams maintain their current levels, a first week game each year might even look nice to the ESPN networks. I would be more in favor of this game in any scenario over wishing an FBS team of any kind would work with us on a home and home. Kennesaw State won't even come to Missoula.

NDSU is a similar program to Montana as well at the top of the FCS and one state over
