Montana postseason press conference wrap up

I was waiting for the video so I could see his face when he was asked about Calhoun.

Who asked the question, Colter?

Around the 6:00 mark....He knows....First step to fix something is to identify what needs to be fixed. Let's hope that "killer instinct" in the fourth quarter comes sooner than later. Go Griz!

A: I addressed it last week, why do you keep asking me

Actually....

“I addressed that 3 weeks ago, how many more times are you going to ask me” (daggers for eyes as well). Pretty classic Bobby.

Interesting stuff in here for sure. Hauck alludes to the fact that the coaching staff basically worked a miracle to get to six and five based on what he saw in December with the roster. With the youth and inexperience on the team, he may be on to something.

To be fair, he basically said the same thing to anyone would listen before the season even started. But some fans refused to believe it. Considered it coach speak I guess. I thought Hauck did a pretty good job overall. Turnovers and failure to close out the 4th quarter being the biggest issues.

And those things can be fixed. If I remember correctly, the Cats had similar issues in Choate’s first two years of not being able to close out teams in the 4th quarter, and he said the Cats would get there. Now in year three, you certainly saw improvement in closing out games.

I previously posted that a recent player told me he thought the team had over achieved, given the talent level. Yet, they came oh so close to finishing with an even better record and the playoffs. The team had fight. Hauck really liked this team.

Good feedback. I think so many of us got our hopes up after the solid start of 4-1, then it evened out. Hauck did say all along that this is a pretty avaersge team that can compete with anyone on the right day. His statement in this presser was “I can see us being a really good team in a couple of years”. I think we all need to prepare for the fact that it may be 2020 before they start making noise again.

Absolutely. I fully expect him to have you guys where you want to be in the next couple seasons. No reason to see why not in my opinion.

If only football games were 45 minutes long, we'd be conference champs.

I don’t think we overachieved. Other than the Northern Iowa game. The rest of the games went about how you thought they would. The psu loss seemed like an upset at the time, but they turned out to be pretty good after a rough start. Glad we didn’t play Eastern this year.

Psu was a lot like PR described us after their fourth game. Close losses and solid wins. They were within a TD of Eastern most of the first half.
