Montana Kids On Griz Roster

Currently there are 51 Montana kids on the Griz roster. State College, our older brother, has 33. North Dakota State has 21 kids from North Dakota on their roster and South Dakota State has 21 kids from South Dakota on their roster.

With all due respect, do you remember the beat down that Montana high school grads perennially gave North Dakota in the Badlands Bowl? They stopped the series because it was so one-sided. That would seem to suggest that North Dakota doesn't have the overall quality or quantity of high school play/players that Montana does. If true, North Dakota should certainly have less in-state players on their squad.

Once the pull on the jersey, every kid on the roster is a Montana kid.

That can’t be correct. We’ve been assured by so many that Bobby and staff have lost connection with todays recruits and Montana high school coaches are advising their players to stay away from the Griz and urging them to take part in the culture they have brewing in Bozeman.

For the ‘23 season, it should be about 47 (UM) to 47 (MSU). MSU’s website doesn’t yet list the 12 incoming Montana kids. UM’s website currently lists 47, which includes the new guys. My counts may be off, though.

I did not realize that. I find this very interesting. Thanks

Hypothetically, let’s say there was one FCS team in Montana comprised of only Montana recruits. Like some sort of ‘Montana FCS All-Star Team’. I think it would fare decently well in the FCS. Cool to think about it terms Montana High School athletics.

……or some could say the team you mention would fare much better in the NAIA.

That too!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Fargo–Moorhead, also known as the FM area, is a common name given to the metropolitan area comprising Fargo, North Dakota; Moorhead, Minnesota; and the surrounding communities. These two cities lie on the North Dakota–Minnesota border, on opposite banks of the Red River of the North."
Brookings, SD is also near the Minnesota Border. Vermillion, SD is near the Nebraska and Iowa borders. IF the relationship is relevant for the overall North Dakota-NDSU comparison, it would also be relevant for SDSU and USD. So, I ask the question, how many from Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska on these three schools rosters? Serious question. Inquiring minds want to know. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.shopify.com%2Fs%2Ffiles%2F1%2F1291%2F8867%2Fproducts%2FNEQ-2318_01_1.jpg%3Fv%3D1681844869&tbnid=dQDMC4hpx5z3_M&vet=12ahUKEwiHx5nAy-H_AhWLHTQIHVU-DmcQMygUegUIARCpBA..i&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fmagazineshop.us%2Fproducts%2Fcopy-of-national-enquirer-04-24-23-melanie-trump-3-2-billion-divorce-showdown-from-donald-trump&docid=-1f_kxocTOdTPM&w=2756&h=3187&q=national%20enquirer&ved=2ahUKEwiHx5nAy-H_AhWLHTQIHVU-DmcQMygUegUIARCpBA
