Montana HS Football Recruits 2015

Good Luck to him. He is a fantastic player, and from everything I have heard and watched, a good kid. Pisses me off that we didn't offer him a full ride. The kid is a one-of-a-kind player, and has shown it over the past 3 years. Neither of the QB's at Butte put up anything remotely close to the numbers they put up the past 3 years without him. A LOT of the yds they had were short passes that he turned into long runs.

I don't have a crystal ball, but I think we will regret this one. But once again, good luck to Dalton!

I had the chance to see Danny Peoples play this fall a few times, and was impressed not only his QB talent, but his kicking/punting skills. His kickoff team was in great shape by the end of the season chasing the ball to the back of the end-zone! Also was at the game where he kicked a 40 yd FG that would have been good from 50+. He's got a great leg. I've heard several schools are recruiting him as a QB who can also kick and punt. Also heard several big schools are considering him as their next kicker/punter. As a Montana football fan it would be great to see him stay in state. Last time I saw a high school kid kick like him, he played for Helena High and his name was Dan Carpenter.

Not sure if danny is college qb material ?? avg in all aspects size, speed, arm strength, athleticism, kicking is above avg, the kicker i remeber most the past few yrs from Mt were nfl kickers as u mentioned carpenter & dont forget abt travis dorsch, seen him kick many kick offs over the goal post in butte &bozeman, kicked for purdue & few yrs in nfl, Danny did run a good offense he knew well, he may get a shot kicking sum where but not as a qb, may blend into Carrolll College scheme of things

Thanks grizpack, that means a lot coming from someone that knows MT HS football. I'm so pissed myself that I can't even see straight :!: :-x

Football

5 times All-State in Football at 5 different positions his SR year alone
3 time All-State WR in career- 2 times 1st team, 1 time 2nd team
4 time letter winner
State Class AA Champion
4 times State record setting WR (JUST MISSED 2 more state WR records)
Had 2 interceptions and a touchdown with a broken hand and a cast covering his fingers up to his elbow and numerous tackles on defense his last two games as a senior

Track - Senior season still to come

Will be 4 times All-State
State Class AA Champion as a JR- 100m and 200m, a heavy favorite to repeat in both.
Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year as a Junior
Will be on the podium all four HS years in the 100m and 200m (8 times)
Will be adding the 400m event I believe, so look for another podium finish.

4 sport athlete, including legion baseball and varsity basketball

Academics

3.87 GPA
4-time Academic All-State
Class Salutatorian

The kid will need both hands to wear his HS championship rings. This is a highly decorated STUDENT-ATHLETE.

He is polite and a very nice kid off the field, but a fierce competitor on the field and in the classroom. He's the type of person that makes you proud to be a fan of.

YOU DON'T LET A KID LIKE THIS GO TO YOUR RIVAL AND NOT END UP FEELING IT. :twocents: Not only for what he does against you, but mainly for what he could have been doing for you in the other 40 games he could have been playing for you. :twocents:

He was/is a really good baseball player too. I have watched him since he was a freshman. I think I even saw him in little league baseball. Too bad Butte is struggling so much with their program. He puts tremendous pressure on a team when he gets on base.

It was funny to watch the pitcher/catcher sweat when Daum got on base, because stolen bases were a forgone conclusion.

Using a baseball analogy, UM whiffed badly in offering Daum a 1/2 scholarship :!: Good Christ.

I think Daum is one kid who is likely worth offering a full ride to. Ryan from Billings likely another. Anyone know of anyone else in state worth offering a full too? Unfortunately, this is going to happen to us over the next couple of years.

3 reasons Daum chose state over UM:

1) 1/2 sholly vs FULL scholly
2) Pro Style offense vs Spread
3) Unknown coach vs friendly coach Ash/staff

Slickcoach2 you got me wondering about my thoughts on Butte Central's Danny Peoples. I'm just a casual fan who caught all the Maroon home games in Butte so I googled his name out of curiosity just to see what kind of stats and numbers he put up. Along with several news articles, his recruiting highlight tape came up. After watching it, there was nothing average about this kid's speed, arm strength and playmaking abilities. Check it out for yourself and you'll see what I'm talking about. This kid threw 60 yard passes, kicked 40 yd field goals, and multiple touchbacks out of the back of the endzone. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2093975/dan-peoples" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
In my opinion this kid is a real sleeper on the recruiting front. Somebody is going to get a real player when they sign him. In the games I saw, including the state championship, he made plays, especially when the pressure was on. I agree with Intuitivegriz, he knows football.

I watched Peoples play twice. Once live and once on film. Very good athlete. I would put him at a Frontier conference level, and expect him to be in the mix right away, especially as a kicker.

As for kickers, I think the highest prospect in the state is the Peppinger kid out of Sentinel (Junior this year). Also plays soccer. Very accurate, fairly strong leg (getting better all the time). He also has and is continuing to attend quite a few kicking camps.

Remember his level of comp is class A"" makes me wonder how his stats would b in AA, hes most likely frontier conf material, seen him play for several years , i know the offense they run very very well& there conf, hes a good team leader & makes good decisions, but does not have the ability for a big sky qb, at the class A level & maybe even in there conf there r 1 or 2 qbs with more skill , maybe non of them at all in class A for big sky conf qb ability, i see danny as a nice fit at carroll or tech, potentail qb , reciever & kicker , hes a good athlete that prolly could play a few positions in frontier conf would like to see him at Tech playing right away, maybe his unkl kevin has got him sum looks at other skools around the country, maybe the petrino family staffers have an idea of him??? kicking at Idaho hmmm???? Potential Central player to play in Big Sky Conf , Ferritier cats or griz

I see AA All State is out and I see and would love to see these two
Be Griz lineman

Bryan Wilkes (CMR) 1st Team All State & Conference
Truman Pisk (Glacier) 1st team both also

Saw both these kids play this year , I hope we step up and get
These kids before the kitties steal them away .

Byron Rollins out of Sentinel has committed to the Cats. His dad (Josh) played there. Good kid. Big frame. Not sure if he got any money.
