MEAC to pull out of Playoffs

Putter, I've never been in the "move up" camp. Actually, I've been dead set against it for a long time. And it still kinda puzzles me when some posters say the Griz have outgrown the FCS, when in fact, Montana hasn't won a national championship in 13 years, and it's now been five seasons since the Griz have played in one. I also believe Montana has NOT outgrown the FCS in terms of facilities. The Champions Center will change some of that, but not all of it. A top-level FBS program, and NOT just the Big Five, also have indoor practice facilities, players lounges and training facilities that FAR outweigh what the Griz have and will have anytime soon. Montana also doesn't presently carry enough olympic sports to move up, and Montana's counterpart, MSU is even farther behind in a number of those factors I just listed. So, in essence, Montana STILL isn't even close to being ready to compete at say, the MWC level. It just baffles me when people say Montana could already be an upper half MWC team when the Griz have only won one Big Sky championship since 2009, and that championship doesn't even exist anymore according to the NCAA.

However, I am now in the camp that says some sort of change to the level of football Montana competes at is now inevitible. I think the changes have already been set in motion, even though the destination is still unknown right now, so I'm slowly preparing myself for those changes, whatever they may end up being.

Good post

Can Fcs PLEASE go back to 16 or 20 playoff teams. Watered down has hurt attendences
I disagree, I think it is crappy fans that "water" it down.

Oh, and 16 is the minimum number of teams... :thumb:

Has a MEAC team ever made much noise in the playoffs?

Also, I got a real kick out of this line in the piece attributed to Morgan State's AD: "ESPN is the driving force behind it and it's been vetted quite well."
I've grown tired with what ESPN has become over the last few years - it just sucks that there aren't too many viable alternative available.

On a related side note, I've been watching the Louisville - Georgia Belk Bowl and every time the announcers refer to the new "CFB Playoff", my skin does crawl just a bit. I can certainly empathize with Idagriz on that one.

I dont know about you but I sure will miss The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks and their unforgettable playoff run.

That would have been... I forget
