McGhee out til October

My 2 cents on the injury argument. Football, regardless of who you play, you are going to be performing many of the same actions with many of the same injury hazards. Therefore, your chances of getting injured against SMU vs. let's say an ISU, probably isn't that much higher. Saying that, if you are playing a team that is superior to you physically and is overwhelming you there is a higher chance of injury. For example, if a DT is getting physically beat on all game long and is getting worn down, his chances of getting injured increase.

That makes perfect sense and all, but how do you explain my main man BS33's and my theory that the worse the player, the more he can hurt you? I once saw a guy go for a tackle with poor technique, and the running back pulled a hamstring before the tackler even got there.

I could say something about karma but I'm not gonna go down that road. Hopefully he heals soon.

What could McGhee have possibly done to deserve suffering an injury that keeps him out of 4-5 games of his senior and final season?

And don't give me all that "Cat fans gave JJ crap last year" stuff, because that (while mostly untrue anyway) has nothing do with McGhee, who is a class act and a great person.
The f*** it was!! Any f***[*] game we went to in town or on the Facebook pages or forums that all you heard was he was a rapist. It was all over place!! So f*** your ideology that it wasn't. Don't give me that horse shit about the majority of cat fans being angels or some shit cuz they're not!! They're 10x worse than the Griz fan base. I'm glad the majority or the fan base that just watch them weekend to weekend without having any desire to know anything about the team other than a win gets to see what it's like to have the leader Mia. I feel bad for DM and hope he returns but as for the majority or the cat fan base... I love watching them squirm. Karma.

Well Mr Karma, you just opened yourself up for a boatload of s!&@t at some point in your future!

Yeah... If you play college ball, chances are you've been taught how to tackle and block properly by now. Doesn't matter what level you play. In fact I see just as bad tackling technique watching SEC games than I do NAIA games, if not worse... 33 isn't completely off base though. Sometimes when you get a guy who knows that can't tackle you or block you, they'll go for your knees and/or ankles. That can cause some problems...

Yeah, I probably deserve that after posting this in the other thread.

This blows. Hang in there.

Nothing I've posted has been offensive toward this injury. If, however, my posts re: Ron Ash and the fact that playing down injures more players than playing up somehow offend you, then I suggest you get the fuck over it.

Why does this topic deserve 6 pages?? This is a Griz forum, lets focus on MONTANA! I care about the Cats one week a year. I hope he recovers soon for his sake and for the sake of not hearing excuses come Nov. Move on!

So you're saying that when JJ graduates we'll be "horrible?"

No, of course not. Somebody else would step in.

Thank you for letting me clear you up.

Maybe after next year the Griz will have someone ready to step up. As of right now? Not so much. Did sleep through last season?

This.

The drop off from Jordy to the #2 (which it isn't even set who the #2 is at this point btw) is a HUGE drop. Right now, msu is three deep on who could step in and play. Fact.

We'll see about your "fact". It is highly unlikely that a qb who has thrown 8 passes in college, has a qb rating of about 110 in his limited action, has not previously practiced as the first team qb, and doesn't have big game experience and responsibility is going to step in for the conference pre-season mvp and not miss a beat.

Did I say, “not miss a beat”? Please show me where I said that, spin master.

Let me rephrase it this way. Bleskin/Prukop > McKinney/SSH/Gus, right now, by a HUGE margin.

Those of you thinking (hoping) the cats will face a major set-back with DM hurt are in for a rude awakening. They will win the next six games, with relative ease. Beyond that gets dicey, with or without DM.

The bottom line is no one has any stats on how many injuries happen in play-up games vs play down. There iss no way to determine who is right. I was just relaying what I heard from Coach Kramer when he was asked that question. I don't think he had any reason to blow smoke at the time. He was giving his opinion based on his experience. He did mention what highlinegriz said in his post about cut blocks and going for the ankles. In any event, I don't really think it's worth multiple pages of smack!

Yeah. Sure. Two guys who have 8 passes between them and you ALREADY know how good they're going to be?

1) Just an friendly observation, but using the  in every single post kind of makes the funny not that funny.

2) We shall see, and you are correct. I have no way of knowing for sure. What I have seen in practice/srum of both sets lead me to believe they are in much better shape that the Griz would be in the same situation.

Having Ash as Coach and DM at QB is like dating a supermodel, but than she blows a guy on your anniversary. Than she apologizes and you take her back, than she does it again on your birthday. #BIGgamechokeartist

Aside from the usual suspects in here doing their thing, I appreciate most of the comments in here. McGhee is a classy guy and doesn't deserve to go out like this - I hope he can come back and play this year.

As far as depth goes, I find it a little optimistic the Cat fans who say we have so much depth everywhere and we will be fine. That may be true in some areas, but not everywhere. Hell our starting LB crew played the ENTIRE game at SMU, running with receivers all over the field. Why? Because behind those three are basically freshman with no experience at all. Losing Na'a and Alexi hurt, and the starting three we have are fine (if not pretty damn good), but we can't have another injury there.

Sure would be nice if Bleskin came in and lit it up, but there is no way to tell right now. It's easy to sit back there as a Cat fan and say we will be fine, but we are replacing an All-American QB. And it's easy to sit there are a Griz fan and say the Cats are doomed.

But there is one guy in this thread who said we were crazy to think Bleskin could come in and be the offensive MVP. Well, McGhee did it as a freshman... so these things can happen in Bozeman. ;)

P.S. I think Prukop has a higher ceiling than Bleskin and I hope he gets a good chance in these coming weeks to show his stuff.
