My guess is that he's not talking about McGhee or what happened to him. He's talking about what has happened to Cat fans. Some Cat fans dissed JJ and UM last year, and now the bad karma has come back to haunt them. Also, some wonder if there's bad karma from dropping NDSU and taking SMU.

Yes - all Cat fans deserve bad karma because they talked about the JJ situation (as well as anyone who talked about JJ). Who cares about the many who emphathized with the situation, showed support or reserved judgement. They deserve the karma of a young man getting hurt and a portion of his career put on hold/lost because he was playing hard.

Yes - all Cat fans deserve bad karma because they had a hand in changing the schedule, particularly the NDSU game. No one cares that it happens elsewhere or that it made financial sense. Heck, any injury to a Cat player serves those fans right for changing the schedule.

I'm glad Griz fans don't ever say anything about any other team so we deserve karma in return...
You're a moron. The fans had nothing to do with changing the schedule.

The loss of JJ would be horrible.

So you're saying that when JJ graduates we'll be "horrible?"

No, of course not. Somebody else would step in.

Thank you for letting me clear you up.

Maybe after next year the Griz will have someone ready to step up. As of right now? Not so much. Did sleep through last season?

This.

The drop off from Jordy to the #2 (which it isn't even set who the #2 is at this point btw) is a HUGE drop. Right now, msu is three deep on who could step in and play. Fact.

You mean they could step in and play at McGhee's level? I seriously doubt that.

Do you really not understand the difference between losing JJ this year and losing him to graduation after other qb's have had 2 more years to mature and prepare?

Let the panicking begin in Bozo.

Hope DM has a speedy recovery. He's a good guy!

No panic in Bozeman. We have a #2 that is well prepared, smart, very talented and has an excellent, accurate arm. We also have a good #3 in Prukrop. Bleskin gets an opportunity to show what he can do. I feel confident he will step-up.

I still don't understand how DM and a few others got hurt against SMU when the real body-bag game is this weekend against a hapless d-2 school. Please explain. Thanks! :thumb:

Ask a coach. That's where I heard it from. Injuries can happen in any game-at your level teams, playing up or playing down. What Coach Kramer said made sense to me, that when you play down players are less skilled and do stupid things that can cause injuries.

They were just blowing smoke at you. Injuries playing against bigger, faster and better teams increase the chance of injury. Of course, injuries can happen anytime in football, but the chances are greater in play-up games.

We'll see about your "fact". It is highly unlikely that a qb who has thrown 8 passes in college, has a qb rating of about 110 in his limited action, has not previously practiced as the first team qb, and doesn't have big game experience and responsibility is going to step in for the conference pre-season mvp and not miss a beat.

Is that a fact or your opinion?

But isn't that how your two biggest injuries occured: on stupid plays (a blundered punt and a hook-n-ladder gone bad)? I would think a team is more apt to do these stupid plays when they are trying to "reach" for a win and over extend themselves. Exactly what happend imo.

Wow DM gets hurt on the last play of a game that was essentially over. Sorry but wow. I have visited with him and he is a good kid. I really hope he gets back on the field ASAP.
Opposing defenses won't have to worry so much about outstanding play making from the cat qb spot. I mean McGhee was a major run threat. Gonna be interesting how much of the play book is affected. DM runs the spread option very good and I don't believe Bleskin has the ability to run it near as good as DM. Not to mention his ability to read defenses. I don't care what anyone says this hurts the cats. Bleskin is a good strong armed qb and a good athlete but a DM comes around only once. Not what anyone wanted to hear. Good luck to DM during his rehab. Hope to see him back on the field 100 percent. Damn!

McGhee out indefiinitely, not just October.

Bummer.

Saw this on the Chronicle website too. People in this thread are too busy pissing at each other to notice this news.

Wasn't Andrew Selle down with a shoulder injury, out indefinitely? Not a good reading there, if out indefinitely is the prognosis. Real bummer.

I think Bleskin is well prepared. They have had him practicing with the ones at times throughut spring and fall camp.He is a very smart kid and knows the new offense in and out. Not the runner DM is as not many QB's are. But Bleskin can run and has a very accurate arm and does fine with the spread option in practice and scrimmages. Yes it may take him a few series to get in synch but I think he will be fine. It's a good thing his first game is against Colorado Mesa. Your right, anytime you lose someone like DM it hurts. It's a good opportunity for Jake Bleskin.

Now you're starting to be a bit more realistic.

Biga75 I don't think when they say out indefinitely it means he will be out longer than sometime in October. The statement that came out from MSU today said he would be back in October. There is not a definite date in Ocober. The injury report that comes out from MSU has three categories-Out, Indefinitely and Questionable. However, they do have a good idea about when a player will be back, just not an exact date.

If this were to happen to the Cats, this is a good time for it to happen. Besides NAU, they will be strong favorites in there next 7 games. It's a good opportunity for them to see how reliable their depth is at QB. I think Bleskin will do well enough to win games for them. He is a pretty small player though. I hope he can hold up and stay healthy. Hopefully McGhee can make it back in November and finish the season out strong.

As for UM's QB depth. I think we have great talent in the wings in Gustafson and Simis, but they aren't ready yet. In 2 years, either one of them could be great. If JJ were to go down, McKinney or SSH would likely be our guys and that is a large drop off in talent.

mcghee hurt his team by taking that huge sack on his team's final drive. you just have to get rid of the ball in that sitaution, especially when a field goal would have won the game.

mcghee hurt us by performing so well in dallas, a hot recruiting area for rob ash. the cats looked to be more the upper division team than s.m.u., and i'm sure the future recruits from that area took note. recruiting texas is really the way ash got the cats competitive with us again.

finally, mcghee himself got hurt. several here are saddened by this, and i'm one. griz-cats, i'm all griz, but cats against any out of state team, and i'm for the team with "montana" on their jersies.
