McDowell to the Portal

I wonder if McDowell made a rash, and potentially regrettable, decision. The decision to leave didn't seem consistent with his tweets. Rumors but nothing is showing to have been pre-planned, at least yet. If it's true he hired a placement service, then that would indicate that he didn't have a specific pre-plan. With the info so far, it makes no sense that he would go to the Portal.

I think he made a rash decision he will one day regret greatly

As do I. In this situation, if that's the case, I think Bobby should consider an exception to his policy, and allow McDowell to come back and compete.

I would be absolutely on board with that in Cliff's case.

I don’t think it was a rash decision. He’s at his 4th school and looking for another. Montana gave him more playing time, the best coaching he has had and the best football experience he will ever have. He might not have been the starter next fall, but I think he would’ve been used on 3rd and short or goal line situations and contributed greatly.
Not a rash decision, more like the grass is always greener somewhere else.

It could have been a reaction to not being handed the starting 2024 job on a silver platter.

That's what I was told.

VA Tech has contacted McDowell's agent.
Will see what plays out.

Agent? I know agents for MLB, NFL and NBA have to be licensed. With the wild transfer portal I wonder if any Tom, Dick and Harry can make them selves some kind of agent? I just think a lot of these kids are getting bad advice and a lot are not finding schools.

I also heard similar.
and ... I was thinking about . . . Cliff arrived in early August and had not ever been through winter conditioning drills at UofM. So, I was thinking about possible conversation themes that have occurred during the exit meetings and wondered . . . what really happened. :? :? :? :? 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Is Diego Pavia from N Mexico St signed? Dual-threat. Looks very good.

I think Sluka from Holy Cross is unsigned.

Sluka is making a trip to visit UNLV this weekend I believe

Pavia apparently has an offer from Nevada and there is a good chance he may rejoin his old Offensive Coordinator at Vanderbilt

I say we bring the man back, with the understanding he competes for everything he gets!

I don't think he would agree to that understanding...and I don't think Bobby would entertain it anyway
