Ah yes, RTD was only supposed to reference the Griz finishing 4th at best in the Big Sky. You seemed to prove Soldiers point, our coaches aren't even some of the best in the Big Sky.

I think RTD was more getting to the top of FCS. If a huge number of the top FCS teams are in the Big Sky, like is currently true and with unbalanced schedules, it is much harder to win the conference. If the Griz were lost in the national championship, some of you would be complaining if we weren't first in the conference. The conference doesn't mean much to me anymore. I look more at playoffs, playoff wins, and final national poll rankings.

Mods, can you please ban Hoops,? He is so out of touch with reality. In Hoops mind now RTD means taking 6th in the conference, getting absolutely destroyed by your rival and backing into the playoffs because your AD is on the committee. If that is the standard the almighty Bobby has truly succeeded in RTD., but that Ferris state game was a signature win.

Two tied for 3rds with absolutely the greatest regular season win in UM history. In any sport. Throw in some playoff wins. But I agree that they are under pressure to finish this year strong. And if they part ways Griz fans better be patient with next crew. Because they ain’t getting to Frisco in a few seasons. But the idea that these guys all can’t coach and the game has passed everyone of them by is very simplistic. Like I said I’m not necessarily a Bobby guy but I am a Justin Green guy and a Ronny Bradford guy
And a Tim Hauck guy etc.. so I’m willing to let this veteran crew rally this team before I throw dirt on their graves.

Jesus talk about moving the goalposts in a lame attempt to protect this coaching staff. Let me guess soon you will be saying being 1-5 vs MSU doest matter, routine early exits from the playoffs or not even making it doesn't matter, degrading play on both sides of the ball doesn't matter ex.

I think most fans would settle for not finishing in 6th place.

If the team makes the playoffs and advances in the playoffs, and has a good post-season poll ranking, I couldn't care less where they finished in the conference. I truly don't understand those who are stuck on last year's conference rank. UM lost 5 games last season. All to playoff teams, 3 of which were in the top 9 seeds. Not enough wins, but hardly shame in losing to some of the top teams in FCS. Losing to NAU is different, especially if the team can't pull itself out of that low spot.

To me, focusing on the conference rank instead of the other positive things is akin to saying: I know we won the national championship, but I didn't like the color of the jerseys the team wore.

I agree so many people on here are that think it is national championship now or we fire everybody. I think it is a step backwards to fire everyone and then try to rebuild rather than build what is established. People on here questioning whether they have met goals. Of course the Griz coaches have higher goals than they have met. That is every organization. Griz will win tomorrow and then set the sights on next goal. It’s good to be the hunter instead of hunted some years.

It was 6th one year with a playoff birth.

I think it was just the cherry on top, the fate was already sealed.

Both are good observations. There was a line out of 'Heartbreak Ridge' where Major Powers, addressing Sgt. Highway, said, 'Their last Sgt. went rogue, retired on active duty(or words to that effect).' This is my impression of what has happened to the regime of Bobby 2.0. He doesn't have the fire or desire to take the Griz back to greatness. Pease, like Rosie, is a joke. Hiring friends, instead of top notch coaches, doomed Bobby 2.0.
I don't know if BH is even capable of change. He hasn't shown me anything that would give me the slightest hope that this 'team', players and coaches can even produce a winning season. BOBBY may throw a parade if the Griz get to six wins. It sickens me to say that. :puke:

The correct quote is “went ROAD (Retired On Active Duty)”…

Making the playoffs. Winning in the playoffs. Post-season rank. The team's other good seasons, like 10 win seasons. Producing all-conference and all-Americans. Good academics and graduation rates. Little or no legal or related trouble with players or coaches. Fund-raising. Strong national recognition. Being a good recruiter and interacting well with parents and important alumni. Calling out dumb questions by the media. Catching a lot of big fish.

I appreciate the correction. All these years I thought it was 'rogue.' My hearing has been going south for quite a while, don't really know how long. Got some hearing aids a couple years back. Now I know why my grandfather, when we were noisy kids, would take his hearing aids off, and put them away. I'm a chip off that old block.

Are you at Davis yet? Have you had any good wine?

Did yesterday in Napa

If you head back, there are obviously tons of great wineries in Napa, but one of my favorites is at Cliff Lede. They have some of the best rock and roll memorabilia, and just a great environment to wander around before and after the tasting. I don't know if that is on most peoples' list, I know there are better wines, but I loved going to that one.

We have a great Napa Sip and Soar adventure for our fundraiser event next weekend. I am anxious to see if it raises anything significant.

Ah, wines. In my early college days, I was a connoisseur of sorts in my dorm. Boones Farm Rotten Apple( not sure of the name), October 1970 made quite an impression on me. After that  , I turned my palate toward beer.

Counting Davis, there are six games left. Griz could end up first, second or third. Or, seventh eighth, or nineth. Sixth is NOT a shoe-in. Faith can move mountains, but it can't score touchdowns, said a wise old Vigilante.
