Marcus Knight to the portal

I love me some Marcus Knight. I would say 99% of Griz nation does as well. I wish this kid the best if he truly has entered the portal and wants to move on. He had a very special year for the Griz and unfortunately is trying to battle back from a pretty tough injury. He hasn’t quite looked the same but I feel like he was getting closer and closer.

I do know one thing for certain, Eli Gilman is going to be a very special player.

He is an elite back. Wish him well. Great kid and does not deserve the negatively of folks thinking it took him awhile to come back. No one knows his circumstances.
He will be missed. We are not better without him.

Can't even remember the kid from San Diego he used and then discarded after benching Calhoun.

Adam Eastwood. He couldn't hang onto the ball and lost his job to Marcus in 2019 after coughing it up and being entirely ineffective. He then, like Marcus, chose to leave.

Nothing to do with treatment. MK had an unfortunate injury and came back at 1/2 speed. He wasn't the same back, didn't look as sharp and Ostmo was firing on all cylinders. Just because you wear the jersey doesn't entitle you to playing time, you have to earn the spot and I don't think he did not 100% his fault but if he really wanted it he would have shown more heart and energy.
 
Quitting at the end of the season says so much about him. Painted the picture of his future…who’d want him if he’s only about him?

Very uncalled for statement!!!!. Why do I seem to be the only one jumping in all the time when someone makes a crap statement like this. Leave the kid alone. None of us have any idea what goes into a decision to move on. I am certain he has very good reasons. This type of comment is so out of line. Think before you speak!

I agree that nobody knows what went into the decision. As I think I said earlier in this very thread, it’s kind of a classy move to let the staff know when you’re done with the program so they can move on accordingly without you instead of giving you reps you aren’t into. He’ll land on his feet somewhere. Positive of that.
 
Do we know 100% he is in portal? UM is stating he is still on roster but was inactive. Deck had to use his 21 to not have the same number as Koppang since deck was returning punts and they’d be on field at same time. I’m guessing he is gone but I don’t know if it’s for certain.

I very much agree with your statement. These kids are becoming men and do all they can to be honorable. Marcus gave much to the Griz. We should be thanking him for some great contributions. All I have ever heard is what a class act he is.

Exactly. It's why PR makes sense. So many on this board have NEVER played the game, let alone any other sport.

I wish Marcus the absolute best and am sad to see him leave.

Only evidence that he entered the portal is Shaun Rainey's tweet. I looked on both Marcus Knight's and Rick Knight's twitter pages and saw nothing new or anything that would indicate he transferred.

I think its 50/50, it could very well be something academic or personal that kept him off the field. If he was transferring you'd think we'd still see him somewhere in the stands.

Sounds like someone was trying to get an answer during the press conference, but the question was about Deck wearing 21, and he never got to finish asking his follow up about Marcus. Not because he wasn't allowed to, but because it wasn't brought up again after Bobby started talking about Deck at length.

At this point, it seems like there's at least a chance people might be jumping the gun here.
 
Knight was dinged up last week so was more than likely inactive today due to that. Then deck needing a different number as a punt return man worn Koppang makes sense as to possibility Knight is still around.
