cats down 23 in the first half in a game not nearly as close as the score might indicate.
When you're beating something like a drum (uh, cats), eventually your arm gets tired.

Can anyone who actually reads litterbox nation tell me how many posts there are blaming this disaster on the officiating? I’m setting the line at 9 and rhe hook.

...and the announcers! The Sam Houston football announcers were much better!

Speaking of announcers, man the analysts were really struggling to find anything to say half way through that game. I fully expected to hear, "Jim, the urinal cakes here in San Diego are different than those at most arenas. How do you think that is impacting play?”

Double overtime in the Notre Dame – Rutgers game.

Not sure I understand why a couple of #11 seeds are put in a play-in game. They fancy it up by calling it the "First Four," but it just seems strange to me.

Add: Notre Dame won, 89-87.

The bottom 4 AQ and bottom 4 at large teams are in play-in games. Those last 4 at-large teams are usually 11 or 12 seeds. Not something new this year.

I'm well aware that having11 or 12 seeds face off in play-in games is not new. Should have said: "I've never understood why teams good enough to get a seed that high have to square off early."
Seems like the eight lowest-rated teams (whether auto or at-large bids) should be assigned #16 seeds and then play each other to see who gets to move on.

In your scenario it would always be autobid teams from lower conferences. I just don't get the issue with the current set-up. I mean to be devils advocate, why not the last 8 at-large selections play for the 12th seed in each region?

Why not resurrect the NIT make it what it used to be.

First of all: What's wrong with populating the play-in games with the weak sisters? (And, yes, they would all be auto-bids from the bottom conferences.) Have they earned anything better? Should a team good enough to rate an 11 or 12 seed be required to play an extra game, on shorter notice than most of the rest of the field?

Not sure what you (zoo) mean about the NIT as "it used to be." I see no way a pure post-season "Invitational" could ever compete for attention versus the "Big Dance." Actually, I rather like the current arrangement that makes the bid a reward for a successful regular season when things don't go right in the conference tournament. (Don't get me started on the conference tournaments.)

Some good basketball today, but not much "drama" in the sense of upsets by really low seeds. Still, we do have one more chance for a classic 12-5 upset.

Well, shucks! Came within about 32 sec of an upset. But the 13-seed Mocs fell a point short of knocking off 4-seed Illinois.
