Manziel/Quinn

Quinn's suspension looks even more unjust in light of the OSU revelations. I had a friend that went to Ole Miss and he said top starters got 100 bucks in every handshake on their way into the stadium on game day.

But confederate money doesn't go as far as it used to.

U Texas has a $133 million annual athletics budget. Idaho has $15.1 million to put into athletics per year. SO, paying players, while a great idea, would have to have a limit, otherwise the Texas, Ohio State, and Alabama's of the world would recruit solely by salary, like mini NFL programs and the disparity would grow even worse than it is now. I think the NCAA will have to come to grips with something like work study, where athletes get an hourly rate for time put into practicing. Not a get rich program, just supplemental living money, maybe based on financial need as well so the Johnny Footballs wouldn't qualify for the program...?

Cool Longhorns tat, Johnny Football.
As I recall the OSU deal involved more than free tatoos. Like selling a lot jersey's, memorabilia, etc.

UM forfeited 5 games from his junior season.
Not the case; vacated games are not forfeited games. But we can all agree on the level of integrity of the NCAA and particularly Emert.

start paying these guys like you should and these problems will go away. for the most part I suppose. after all johnny football was already a millionaire and he was still stupid enough to get wrapped up in this! but seriously...these guys should be paid.

I agree, let them be paid BUT then no free tution, room and board. I wonder how many of them would stay in school?

I thought that they got a free ride in school, isn't that getting paid. I always thought they played football because they wanted too.
