Malik Flowers - Seahawks

Kind of expected 49ers with their returner going down but a shots a shot.
Ronnie Bell looks better than Danny Gray and actually shows up in the passing game, so I think Gray was always on the bubble.

Also, while I am excited that Malik got a shot, why does it seem like it's always on the seahawks?

Malik is the kind of player teams may be willing to stash on their practice squad. A returner who can also play a role in the passing game if needed.

I wondered why the Saints to begin with. They had the kid Shaheed who was Weeb's kick returner already on the roster, so why they needed a virtual duplicate was puzzling.

Total guess on my part, but I'd have to say the word of mouth connections are better with a Pac NW team.

Well that's great for them, but unfortunate for me.

Gave him #37. Hopefully a good omen.

I gotta wonder if he chose that. Pretty rando coincidence, especially giving it to a wr.

Lets hope he did. But it may not stick if he makes the team. I would bet they'd move him to a more traditional number in the teens or eighties, once the roster starts to clear.

Unfortunately, reports today indicate that Malik Flowers was among the players cut by the Seahawks, prior to the final roster announcements.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Flowers was cut. O'Connell wasn't. I saw an analysis of likely 53 roster, and O'Connell wasn't on it. However, a starting backer got a concussion and another hurt. This may or may not impact the roster. I think O'Connell has a good chance of making the 16-person practice squad.

This was only their first cut to get to 53 from 90 and included a list of 7 players. Long ways to go for them by Tuesday. Patty made a great impression. He has a few things working in his favor from age of Bobby to the contracts in the linebacker room. He could be advantageous as a special teamer and solid backup inside backer. Hope he stays on. He is a little slow and flat footed at times, but given his first year in camp, at that position on the inside and at the level of competition he has done amazing. Pulling for him to make the roster or practice squad and continue to improve.
