Macklemore sported the Griz #37 jersey tonight

Last night was as energized as I've ever seen in the Adams Center. The only Missoula concert to possibly top this was the Rolling Stones concert (but only because it was in WaGriz).

Macklemore returned to Missoula after a showing at the Wilma Theater last year, where 800 fans roared and won his heart over. He returned this year and will return again in years to come to stun Missoula. But this is truly a testament to the great place that we live in. I know not everyone on here is from Missoula, but even the outlying cities of Montana that converge at any given moment for gamedays or concerts have proven themselves worthy of artists like Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, as well as the great recognition we receive as a premier athletic school with great fans. Missoulians, and those that come from far away to celebrate in Missoula, win over the heart of nearly every visitor. Macklemore was impressed by the rowdiness and pure adrenaline that ran through the arena. Every person in the Adams Center stood from beginning to end, and that was amazing to see.

I hope this energy can be carried over to Saturday at 1:40 pm.

Go Griz! And thank you Missoulians and Montana for being so awesome!
Ignite the atmosphere by playing some of their music during pre-game. It should get the students rocking!

Jethro Tull was a helluva donkey show.

I saw Jethro Tull at the Adams Center, 30+ years ago. Saw the Avett Brothers at the Adams Center on Sunday evening. The Avett Brothers were truly excellent, enjoyed every minute of the show. Was pleasantly surprised by the sound in the Adams Center, the band sounded great.

I think it's pretty smart to wear them and play up to the home crowd. I bet he has more than $20 in his pocket now and one hell of a jersey collection.

Sweet, that's probably the same Jethro Tull show that I attended at the Adams Center -- must have been 1978 or so. One of my favorite concerts ever. The fond memories of that night are taking away some of the painful reality that indeed I am officially an out of tune old guy -- until this thread, I had never heard of Macklemore.

I would have had no clue if it were not for my 16 year old daughter. Knowing that, there was a good article in ESPN the magazine about his love for Seattle sports and how hard he is working to get the NBA to return to Seattle.

Id rather attend a donkey show than watch a concert at the Adams Center..

I've actually seen two donkey shows at the Adams Center. Simpler times.
The good ol' days, eh?

Avett Brothers was a good show, but small crowd and not much crowd energy for most of it. At least not until Seth stopped the show during Ballad of Love and hate to tell the people shouting "I love you" they were ruining the intimate part of the song. good stuff. But I have to admit, when that girl shouted "I love you " from section 204 it was absolutely the most clearly I have ever heard someone during a concert.

Speaking of that I'm surprised Griz fans still use the term:

Yeah, no surprise that a wigger like him would be an Ewoo fan. :geek:

Don't wanna be called a wigger? Don't be a white guy and act like you're black. Pretty simple. :ugeek:

I'm thinking it was '76 or '77. And it truly was awesome! Too old to rock 'n roll, too young to die! :thumb:

But the PERFECT age to perform in a donkey show.

Didn't see Tull, but saw Boston in the Adams Fieldhouse in '78...worst concert I've ever been to...in fact, we left after 4 songs. Maybe they can blame the Adams Fieldhouse acoustics?

Guarantee the students would respond if they play his music at any point during the game. Man I miss the student section sometimes.

Prolly '77 or '78. Lot of water under the bridge since, don't you think?

How exactly does one "act like they are black" anyway?

You can be white and act black...you just cant be white and at like a n***** and yes there is a difference. I think Chris Rock sums it up the best in this clip.

Im confused. so white people should not act black? is it okay for black people to act white? what about Asians and Native Americans what are the rules for them?

I'm still confused on how exactly what it is to be black that can be "mimicked". Is it the rapper/hip-hop style that you are referring to? What about the black guy with the office job who lives in the rich suburbs and listens to Michael Bolton?

Now am I also curious how one acts white. I wonder if I act my race?
