Lucas Johnson QB Transfer

Athletically, he looks a lot like Sneed. If we get a Sneed like Sr season, this offense should be dynamic. That's assuming, Rosenbach opens up the play book and the OL improves. I know, that's asking a lot.

How is that a big ask? Lucas is seasoned and athletic. Sneed had that senior season with similar weapons. We should have a healthy Knight and Ostmo as well as a good receiving core and tight end with another year of conditioning and strength training. We now have a playmaker in Bergen that is versatile like sulser who will hopefully be back and healthy. The line will not have to hold up like they did with little run support and limited playbook like they did all season. Rosenbach had no problem opening up the offense in 2019. Our defense will be better than 2019 as well as our special teams. I see a much more balanced team than this year. Hopefully we avoid the injury bug like this year.

My faith in Rosenbach has diminished a lot. I'm hoping, come fall camp that will change for the better.

Highlights from the Frisco Bowl he QBd

He was 24/36 for 333 passing and 3 passing TDs. He also rushed for another score.

He was the QB for SDSU in their win over Utah as well.

Kid has fantastic experience and will only make us better, regardless of who is QB1 on the first gameday.

Gotta like a guy that already has a winning record in Frisco!

Great get; San Diego HS, BH recruited him back then. Dual threat guy, can be just what we need. Was super impressive in their bowl game.

“Johnson started the Frisco Bowl and passed for 333 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for a fourth score. For the season, he completed 138 of 223 passes (61.9 percent) for 1,424 yards with 12 touchdowns and four interceptions.”

I agree this was a tremendous pick up!

Not to mention he was the main guy toward the end for a SDSU team who went 12-2

This video shows his awesome ability to scramble, keep the play alive, and deliver strikes. I like what I see in this guy a lot.

Terrific bowl game, with an injured knee. I like this guy. Looks like an upgrade at qb. Also a gap filler to give more time for our younger qbs to mature.

Clear we wiffed on the other dudes we had in the boat. Not sure if that’s good or bad as this guy will be a good plug and play option
Who did we whiff on in “our boat.” Curious to hear. You realize now there is much less incentive to transfer down to FCS right?

Big frame and strong speed. This dude can throw on the run! I am liking what I see here.

I’d say we hit a home run here… :thumb:

Never seen him play but I’m not super impressed by his numbers. Hoping he’s a hit but more worried he’s a miss.
You should do a little research before you're so dismissive. Suggest you watch a replay of the Frisco Bowl, Dec. 21 and reassess your post.

I am not sure I get the guys motivation.. a grad transfer from a D1 FBS school, who wants to goto a FCS school?
Yeah, wants to able to play a whole season for a guy he trusts and get a grad degree. Not hard to understand.

Can we nick name him tre, ...since he was at least the third choice behind the quarterbacks the gris offered behind the northern Iowa guy who went to Central Arkansas and the guy from Colorado state who went to James Madison.👍👍
What's this "we" stuff? You're only here because the computer in your mom's basement is the only place in the house more than 300 yards from an elementary school, playground, or public swimming pool.
