Just a note in appreciation of Chris Lider. After last year and the beginning of this season, there were probably few who even cared that he stayed on the team. But he stuck it out and has become invaluable. His kick-offs are often deep if not un-returnable. He can be used in emergency for place kicking duty. He has filled in well for Shaw as punter. In fact, although he does not boom the ball like Shaw, he gets his punts off much quicker with less chance of blocks. Additionally he is a good tackler, very valuable in our sometimes poor ST coverage.
 
I hope he remains our punter through his graduation. I like the kid as a punter. It would be great if he can find his FG kicking though. Greenberg is up and down as a kicker too.

Its easy to put down a player who hasnt performed well and I have personally been critical of Lider. However, he has done a great job as a replacement punter, a luxary most teams dont have without running their starting kicker out there on punts. Players such as him are what make college football great, similar to Jeff Larson a few years back in the sense that he did whatever the team asked of him. Hope Lider can help play a key role in Saturday's W.

I'm recalling some critical punts McKnight made against the 'scats two years ago that repeatedly pinned them DEEP in their own end of the field... 8-) 8-)
 
Our seats are behind the Griz bench. It's amusing to watch Lider on the sidelines. The guy has serious restlessness. More often than not he can be found practicing with the long snapper. After snapping the whole game on the sidelines, I'm a bit surprised he can get the ball back to Lider in the fourth quarter. Seriously, the kid's career has not been smooth sailing, and it's been good to see him find a way to be a big contributor on this team.

Ha I always notice that as well. Guy is constantly practicing the snap. Shows dedication.
