Liberty Game Will Reveal Who We Really are

I have to laugh at the pin heads who slammed me for stating what any knowledgeable Griz fan knows. I just left the the Silver Slipper, and talked with two former Griz football greats, both WRs, about the Liberty game. They both agreed that we would know much more about the prospects for this team following the Liberty game. One solid game, one shitty game. Lots of turnovers. Offense not running on all cylinders. The Liberty game will be a defining game, but don't burst the sucrose crew's bubble. There's always the conference games to pad our record! One would think that they would get weary of having their ass handed to them on a daily bases. Yet, just like the Energizer bunny, thet come back for more! Wally World talks about conference play, as if winning the Pig Sty Conference is the new measure of success.

I got news for ya Wally, most real Griz gans could give a sh*t about winning the conference. We used to win it 17 straight years, but that was not what we strived for back then. Anything less than a National Championship is my measure of success. You and your dumbed-down minions can take your soft-assed approach to our program and become a Bobcat fan, you know, those who thrive on participation trophys. Not me!

Oh, BS, what you just said didn't occur. You constantly make up stuff. No one believes you. Most everyone chuckles at you.

Yes, we do..... a Griz fan who has forgotten more about the game of football than 95% of the posters on here, and 100% of guys like you.

And you are who we knew you were........ the President of the Sugar Coaters Club, UM Edition.

And you are the assistant secretary of the Acid Spewers club. Obviously, an unelected position.

Win or lose v Liberty and we're still 0-0 in conference play. Yes I want the win of course but by no means does the season hinge on this game. What a stupid OP.

You should have the market cornered on stupid. Stupid is as stupid does.

I don't think you want to enter a contest against Brint regarding who has more credibility with the Griz football program! Just sayin! ;)

Only GAA mavens like yourself are impressed with his flowery "analysis". What's even more humorous is that I hang with several former all-conference Griz football players, and they agree with me. In fact, some of my observations come from discussing things with them.

No, you don't hang with any former all-conference Griz players. You just make up all of your fantasy stuff and post it.

It didn't occur? Then why did we just leave the driving range at the Missoula Country Club, after having had several Happy Hour drinks there. Oh, by the way, Jack, both of them think you are a creeper.

No. You just have linear opinions. Generally I find the stronger somebody sticks to opinions, the more ignorant they are. Saying that our defense lost the Poly game shows me you are an idiot. One play, anywhere, special teams, offense or defense changes the outcome of that game. Keep your banned-ass opinions to yourself so the rest of us can enjoy a thread or two.

The former player argument always makes me laugh. It's ONLY ever brought up by people who use it to support a NEGATIVE opinion of the Griz. Man, former players sure do hate the Griz alot according to a few posters on here. Yet, they come back to home games to give pre-game speeches, to do color commentary, to raise the 37 flag, to do reunions, to do charity events, and man a LOT of former players sure do donate a lot of their money to UM athletics, some publicly, some anonmously. I really don't think former players talk as much crap about the Griz as the three posters who use that argument repeatdly on here would like the rest of us to believe.

But, to be fair, I'll play along with Growler's two former WR's he played golf with today, one I'm pretty sure I know pretty well. What I would say to them is, neither of them have played in Bob Stitt's offense, so sorry, those criticisms aren't valid. Now, if they're just criticising the WR's, like Henderson or Roberts or whoever, fine, by all means, but the play calling, the scheme? Nah, they don't know what they're talking about.

Calm down growl/atlant or you will have another stroke. These guys you "hang with" are they as old as you?

I would tend to agree with you but their sure does seem to be some pretty significant political "backbiting" going on in the upper echelons of Griz nation. That can't be argued. Many of these feuds seem to spill out on the message boards.... The whole coaching search process and the naming of the finalists really showed the political undercurrent that is present around Griz athletics. You got donors that want to throw their weight around etc. You got other high level fans that hate the influence these other fans have. It appears to be a volitile mix to me. I'm sure this kind of behavior is par for the course at USC, Oklahoma etc. but it's sad to see it hear...
Although the Griz do have a strong winning history at the FCS level. Maybe this type of behavior is just a result of a culture of winning. Everybody wants their piece.....

Your posts are proof positive that you have forgotten more about the game of football than 95% of the posters. Might be time to hang up the key board.

FWIW, there is no longer such a thing as "GAA." You do need to keep up.

The resume. Always with the resume. Never before have I seen someone with such a pronounced superiority complex. A textbook case, for sure.

I did pressers and a conference call last week. I didn't see one single Griz player or coach thumping their chest about NDSU. Not ONE. They talked about how good Poly's offense is, about how hard they knew this game would be, they talked about wanting badly to win at home again, they again talked about how much respect they had for Cal Poly, especially the triple option offense. Again, I didn't see one piece of evidence from last Monday to last Friday that suggested the Grizzly players or coaches spent the week thumping their chests about NDSU.

Now, Griz fans were a different story. We indeed thumped our chest all week long. And, since absolutely none of us played against Cal Poly, at least that I'm aware of, the chest-thumping by the fan base was perfectly fine, deserved and had no outcome on the game. In fact, I didn't think the fan base even had an NDSU hangover. I thought the noise level Saturday night was awesome, and Tim Walsh agreed, since he said he wore earplugs the entire second half. I thought the crowd brought it hard again on Saturday night. Deserved a game ball actually. So again, Griz fans being cocky had absolutely no baring on the outcome of the game against Poly.

But the one thing the OP is right about, next Saturday's game is indeed a big litmus test for the Grizzlies.
+1

What is interesting is that all the ex-Griz I have spoken with NEVER say anything negative about the program. They know what it is like to play and what it is like to be a fan. They may not agree but I have never heard anyone bash a player or coach....just what I have experienced.

I am shocked. Yet another thread of ATLG verses PR. Granted, I sure in the hell wish the Liberty would reveal who and or what the team is this season. A new coach, system, staff, and QB will usually be a roller coaster. I honestly will be surprised if we can get a consistent idea of who and what this team is before mid October. Either way, I am proud of the GRIZ and fortunate to be part of GRIZ NATION.

For the record of PR verses ATL, if it ever came down to a true fight, I'd take PR.
