like to hear some liberty fans views on the wake game. were you guys just playing out of your ass? does wake suck THAT bad? maybe i just give fbs schools too much credit but when i saw liberty only lost to them by 3 after leading in the game and tied after 3 quarters i was impressed. maybe wake is just that terrible. i expect they'll be about a 24-27 point dog to the noles this week but that still doesn't tell us anything. except that wake is better than savanah state. ;)
They beat a (terrible) Ball State team recently, and played West Virgina well. The Flames are definitely a performer in play-up games

Liberty's injuries to starters coming into the UM game could definately hurt them

- Their starting QB, Brian Hudson is listed as questionable with a knee/shoulder injury
- OL Malcolm Boyd is out the season with a broken leg
- LB Nick Sigmon has a concussion and is listed as questionable
- DT Francis Bah has an undisclosed leg injury, and is listed as doubtful
- TE Peter Gagliardi is out for the season with a knee injury
- DB Derek Brooks is out for the season with a knee injury

Their fans sound pretty optimistic over on their board, so perhaps they have the talent to overcome all these injuries to key players (who are all starters  ), but I know I would be skeptical of Montana winning a game vs Liberty if we had that kind of start to a season. Reminds me of our 2010 season.

Liberty is easily the weakest of Montana's first three opponents. Not trying to hurt anybody's feelings here, but you have to walk before you can run. Before you walk you have to crawl. Before you crawl, you have to swim.

Thank you Charles Darwin! :) I would imagine Evolution not a real popular class at Liberty. Poof! and we all just evolved from Ken and Barbi in the Garden of Eden.

You are full of crapola. So, South Dakota could come with 3 points of Wake Forest? Have another hit.

I see nothing in his post that states anything about Wake Forest! :coffee:

Well, you are going to see for yourself on Saturday. It gets old schooling the pedestrian fans over and over again. I should allow Brint to keep giving you hope.
When have you ever schooled anyone in anything ever? Certainly wasn't on this forum. You. Are. A. Joke.

Anyways, Liberty should end up being better than USD as they have been a top 25-40 program the last 5 years or so. That Norfolk team they just lost to isn't too shabby.

You are not even a player, so I do not waste time schooling you

And just because I enjoyed the leapin Dan Moore pic, I thought I'd post our version - Pat Kelly.

Uh, they're easily better than South Dakota. Before you can post, you have to think...
South Dakota would trounce Norfolk State or Liberty.

Would they take Wake Forest to the wire, too?

Nobody should take this Liberty team lightly.

As for the MT Defense, I think the worst game they play all season will be the App State game and that is behind us.

Brint, not a very complete assessment. You did not note if the coach was a boxers or briefs kinda guy. What is Scott Hyland's favorite meal? What is Kevin Fogg's drink of choice? Inquiring minds want to know.

Like some dude sitting on a computer in Missoula, Montana knows anything about the Liberty football team. But must of you eat his B.S. up like a rabid wolf in a chicken coop.

Well, Let's see your write-up of the game. At least Brint has the gumpton to try to give information about the other team. Also, I don't see the Liberty posters disagreeing with him as they've only added to what he's written. I'll read your analysis if you post it so go for it

Well lets see I read the box scores, read the media guides, scroll through all the stats on the season, read the pre-season all conf selection, review the prior year's stats, check the team's message board (if there is one), and watch their video highlights on the season.

You're right, I don't know anything about them.

Additionally - and I would LOVE a truthful answer - WHAT in my scouting report I posted is BS?

Come on Growler1, give us your analysis and scouting report.

Griz just need to drop back and run the old copernican turn out of the 'big bang' formation. From that formation you can also run the double helix, and the quantum mechanics, with the option for relativity.

On defense if we just sequence in a few gene mutations and evolve at halftime there is absolutely no way that anyone from Liberty can figure out what we are doing.

Not bad, thanks for sharing.

The Griz in me does make me point out though that your player is leaping a defender on his knees, whereas Moore leaped a standing defender. :thumb:

GO GRIZ

Liberty Head Football Coach Turner Gill has announced that linebacker Marques Jenkins and offensive lineman Kevin Widener have left the team, effective immediately.

"Kevin Widener and Marques Jenkins have decided to quit the team," commented Gill about the roster changes. "We want thank them for the contributions they brought to our football program. Our players and staff wish them the best in all of their future endeavors."

Jenkins, a senior from Stafford, Va., played in 28 games during his four-year playing career at Liberty and started his first career game this past weekend against Norfolk State. He recorded 29 tackles (16 solo, 13 assisted), five tackles for a loss, two sacks and intercepted his first career pass in Liberty's season opener at Wake Forest.

Widener, a sophomore from Lebanon, Va., has been a reserve member of Liberty's offensive line for the past two seasons after redshirting in 2010. He appeared in three games last season and saw his first action of 2012 against Norfolk State this past Saturday.

The Flames will continue their three-game stretch against Top 25 ranked FCS programs on Saturday when Liberty travels to Missoula, Mont., to face No. 14/12 Montana.

Kickoff at Washington-Grizzly Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. (EST) and the game will be carried on radio and television by the Flames Sports Network.

I think that statement on Jenkins is career, he'd be on the front page of SI if he played a single game like that.

And yet, I just looked on their board to see what kind of impact it might have, and there is hardly a hint of worry in their posts. Jeez, these liberty fans have faith....... ......pun intended
