Liberty Flames Scouting Report

Liberty played FBS Wake Forest even, barely losing. The next week, Wake Forest beats North Carolina. Liberty will be MUCH STRONGER than south Dakota. Anyone who thinks this game will be a cake-walk is badly mistaken. Those Christians can play football!

Yep, and I feel as though last week may have been a let-down or trap for LU. Don't expect the Flames to just roll over. But we are also all very aware of the caliber of team and atmosphere we are walking into.

It's hard to understand this atmosphere until you are in it. I'm sure the Flames encountered some of that at WF, but this stadium is loud...louder than most in the country. I thought "The Rock" was intimidating and our WA-Griz is the same.

although that brings up a good point i was curious about too. not that i think wake is any good but liberty was tied with them heading into the 4th and only lost by three. guess i came away from that game thinking they might be pretty decent.

like to hear some liberty fans views on the wake game. were you guys just playing out of your ass? does wake suck THAT bad? maybe i just give fbs schools too much credit but when i saw liberty only lost to them by 3 after leading in the game and tied after 3 quarters i was impressed. maybe wake is just that terrible. i expect they'll be about a 24-27 point dog to the noles this week but that still doesn't tell us anything. except that wake is better than savanah state.

When have you ever schooled anyone in anything ever? Certainly wasn't on this forum. You. Are. A. Joke.

Anyways, Liberty should end up being better than USD as they have been a top 25-40 program the last 5 years or so. That Norfolk team they just lost to isn't too shabby.

They beat a (terrible) Ball State team recently, and played West Virgina well. The Flames are definitely a performer in play-up games

Our defense was great that night and their offense was flat in a season opener. Our offense was creative despite having our leading rusher out due to a suspension. We controlled the line of scrimmage that night and we had no business losing. And yet we did. We have the ability to play with just about anyone. But we have so many new faces on offense and now a slew of injuries just two games into the season. We already have lost four of our opening day starters including our consensus All-American OG for the the season. Let that sink in a bit. In other words, we have no idea how we will respond on Saturday. We have the talent to pick up a win despite our record.

I point out that there was nothing about Wake Forest in his post and I am getting schooled? Growler, you are so delusional and arrogant you do not even make sense 80% of the time..other 20% is just plain stupid.

Wake will have a Wake year and go to a bowl. The are not great but very good. I actually think we made too many mistakes at Wake to win, but that we should have won that game. We lost it at the end more than they won.

I'm still scratching my hear on the Norfolk State loss, but again, too many injuries and too many mistakes. This LU team is VERY good, but there is room for improvement for sure. Very talented team that has to put it all together.

I just hope some of the injured guys are able to go.
