LG at NAU

Half time: NAU 41, LG 39.

Both teams shooting well: NAU 47%, LG 46%. Not sure if the Lady Griz held a team below 40% this year yet.

Lady Griz turned the ball over 11 times - NAU scored 9 points off of those turnovers.

Konig and M Huard lead the team with 9 points each. Marxen has 7 points.

Lady Griz win 89 - 84.

Mack Konig had her best game of her career with 24 points, 7 assists and 2 turnover.

Bartsch had a double - double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Gfeller had 18 points and Marxen 12 points.

When Lady Griz play well offensively, they are the toughest team to beat. Let's just hope they play well offensively the rest of the season.

One additional note: After turning the ball over 11 times in the first half, they turned the ball over only 4 times in the second half.

I agree w/TrueGriz on Konig's career game. Combine the points from her 7 assists with her 24 points & her game was pretty incredible. Also: add Bartsch's 4 assists and 2 steals to her line.
Want to give a huge assist to the coaches as well because of the second-half adjustment to a hi-lo offensive game from Carmen Gfeller. As soon as she moved to the high post, her defender couldn't stop her, which forced the Jacks to provide weak side defensive help, which opened up the perimeter even more.
Lastly, the confidence in the players to keep shooting the treys will pay off a bit more with each game. Montana shot 41% (14-34) from beyond the arc overall. This was a good win. Next stop: MSU.

So good so far! Our defense must improve. We can’t rely on allowing the opposition to shoot 40+% and consistently win. Somewhere down the line it will cost us. Let’s hope it isn’t in the Big Sky Tournament. I like our ability to score but it won’t be there every night as we saw at Northern Colorado.

I've just finished watching the 1st half - where do they get these refs? Of course, I saw the weird calls on us, but I think there were a couple on NAU that were also off the wall. The state of refereeing is in the toilet. That crew shouldn't even be allowed to work high school games! Am I overreacting?

Great win, BTW! NAU is very athletic and they're a good team to boot.
