Man those guys are dbags.

Did Chad really say it was palatable when talking about the energy and noise from their fans during the Albany game? Listen around the 54 minute mark.

I will say this on special teams. Every team this year has had the arrogance to kick to Bergen believing they could stop him. NDSU actually had a plan to directional punt to their sideline because they believed they could stop him on that side with a blocking scheme. Well look how that turned out…ESPN, Marty, coaches, and Colter have all said DO NOT kick to Bergen. ST will be a difference maker on the 7th.

Mistake made, happens when you have a couple drinks, palatable/palpable. Are these guys homers, sure. I’d say GFP is as well. They put a ton of time and effort into informing and entertaining. They’re not for everyone but this crew would be the first to welcome any opposing fan into the tailgate areas. You wouldn’t go hungry or thirsty.

Blue glasses opinions, sure. But they are far from dbags. You might not like what they say but I guarantee you’ll laugh at least a few times at them/or due to their antics.

Full guarantee, at no point will SDSU intentionally punt it to Bergen. Directional or otherwise, if he gets a punt ret it’ll be from a shank or some other anomaly.

Even special teams coaches have an ego, MY unit is better than yours, which was the case with Jr's TD run on the opening kickoff.
Ego bypasses rational thought every time. But they didn't kick to him again.

Yes, at times ego comes into play. Many comments about how young and inexperienced the SDSU staff is, truth. What you won’t find with HC Rogers is ego. Confident and smart, but not ego driven like many HCs. His say on it will be the final one, I’m guessing you will not see a purposeful kick/punt to Bergen.

Rogers is impressive. I suspect the 2009 game here helped shape his makeup.

Really looking forward to the game. You do seem willing to try to be objective, and I am curious. How many NFL players do you TRULY believe are on the team? Not who might make a practice squad and get cut after a year, but guys who will see the final roster for teams and possibly play?

Have the Jacks seen a defense run like ours? (I'm talking about our 3-3-5 scheme specifically, not just have you seen any tough defenses)

Do you agree with the analysis that the only time the Jacks have struggled on defense has been against running QBs?

Curious for your thoughts. Thanks for coming over and not being a Jackass. (pun intended; I will see myself out)

Hey all, another SDSU fan here.

There are 3 for sure NFL players (RB Davis, OL McCormick and Greenfield) plus 3-5 more that will get UDFA contracts or tryouts for sure ( WR'S Janke's, TE Heiens, DB Gales). That's strictly for seniors. There are some juniors/underclassmen that will get looks when their time comes.

Villanova also ran a 3-3-5 defense and obviously gave us much more problems than other teams have. Weather was a factor in that game and Nova was able to completely sell out on the run and it worked for the first half but in the second half they wore down and Davis ran wild (192 yards on 27 carries). Nova loaded the box and blitzed a ton in that game. So yes, that is of concern for us since your style is somewhat similar

I wouldn't agree that the only time we have struggled was against running qb's. We aren't nearly as aggressive as Montana on D, we play a lot of base and don't blitz much. Games that we gave up the most points were against slow methodical drives. We are willing to give up 5 yard passes and make you dink and dunk your way down the field, mostly because we have been able to be ahead most games and the other teams are having to force it to make up points.

As far as draftable players as many as 7-8. 4 likely. McCormick, Davis, Greenfield and Heins. The Janke’s, Gales and Stalbird have a shot too.

They’ve faced a few 3-3-5 Ds. Villanova most recently. They held them but I’ll admit more of that is due to the weather. Limited to 23 pts in 40-50 mph winds but the offense hit victory formation at the 5yd line.

Any struggles with D moreso come from playing out of position. Breakdown of the the pocket. Sluka did a number last year but this year it’s been held in check.

McDowell presents the biggest dual threat challenge they will see this season.

NOBODY seems to think that the Griz have any kind of a chance in this game. National sports writers, other FCS coaches, and of course fans of the other team are all picking the Jackrabbits to win, and win big. However, I keep thinking about the 2009 championship game. The Griz came in undefeated as the number one seed, while Villanova came in with one loss as the two seed. I remember being confident that the Griz would win. Everything pointed to that presumed outcome. Stop me if any of this sounds familiar..

I think McDowell has gotta get it going in the run game and keep them guessing, and he most certainly cannot be throwing balls into the dirt. He needs to be very accurate in this game, which he has proven he can do.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but what if those throws we all think are super ugly and too low, are actually not so bad, and not necessarily bad misses?

Hear me out for a sec. Great MLB pitchers know they can miss outside but cannot miss inside.

Big Cliff rarely throws picks, and if he does, it’s usually on a miscommunication type play and not over throws. The ball does not sail on him like so many other QBs.

I think he’s got such respect for avoiding picks that on tight coverage he purposely puts it where only the WR can get it, and if he misses, he must miss low. Yes those bounces are misses, but not as far off as it looks, and actually very disciplined and allows him to settle into the game. He may skip a few early but not as much later

Honestly, so far love you Jacks fans that have come over to talk. Knowledgeable, respectful, banter without ugliness. Really have appreciated you guys.

The Dakota neighbors are the best neighbors.

Alright, in fairness I've been drunk since early the summer of '85 but I'm calling the Griz to "Shock The World!" Griz 29 - Rabbits 17

Jackrabbit fan here looking for friendly banter, intelligent and fact based. Love to answer any questions you may have about the Jacks and provide perspective. I’m a complete homer but can see things objectively, at least I think so.

Each team will need their A game to win it. The biggest advantage the Jacks have in my opinion is depth. Comparing games that happened 3-4 months ago won’t cut it. Both teams are different now. The Griz peaking and persevering. The Jacks turning it up come the playoffs.

I have total respect for the roll your team is on, just a total machine and fun to watch..

What players do you think might hit the portal after this season?

I would guess gronowski and Davis might be on the top of the list for other p5 teams, even if they leave I think you'll be o.k. with chase mason back at qb. and amir Johnson back at running back.

I have the jacks winning something around 30-13 and on their way to a second consecutive nattie..

Isaiah Davis could have another year of eligibility if he wanted, but it's been pretty open that he's going to go to the NFL next season. Gronowski will garner lots of attention, I'm at about 50/50 if he comes back or not.

Davis is NFL bound, he's likely a day 2 pick or early day 3. I’ll agree with the previous sentiment, guessing Mark is likely 50/50 on the portal. Moreso because of the NIL thrown his way.

But to answer your question, I think the portal players from the Jacks will be the fringe, 3rd/4th string guys looking for more playing time. The SDSU locker room seems to have a different make up at the top. Already had a RB that shined in the spring game as a true fr hit the portal early in the window.

I think many of the players have/can see that the grass isn’t always greener. Money however is. That’s where I’d say any “star” movement that could happen would come from.
