I said nothing about black and white. And no matter how "flawed" we might be, history would suggest that we're going to beat ANY Big South team put in front of us, so yes, I was the guy who was certain we'd win. But, we didn't play well enough to win, and it wouldn't have mattered anyway, since we'd get blasted this weekend even if we HAD managed to win. I can at least admit THAT, which you're apparently not able to. The refs were not the determining factor. Not even close. Our team turned the ball over on downs THREE times inside the 30. JJ threw an interception at the worst possible time of the year. We gave up 28 straight points in OUR house in OUR weather to a team from the f***[*] Big South. We got to within 7 points with FIVE FULL MINUTES left in the game and didn't have the ability to get our defense off the field. Hell, even if we HAD won that game we didn't deserve it.

Omfg this is exactly what I'm talking about. You were certain we'd win by 20+, if I recall right you even said we'd win by 30. But if I ignore the sentence about getting within 7 it would sound like we got beat by 30. Seriously dude. You even said something about the interception at the worst time when the refs missed the offsides call on that exact play. Seriously dude it was a close game and we get it you think were a dog shit team and shouldn't be in the playoffs and we were over rated bla bla bla. You're just like every other hard head on here. We lost a CLOSE game where refs severely changed the path of the game. And before you argue that point, I'm just mimicking the commentators thoughts who was in fact a coach and infinitely more qualified than you when it comes to football.

And I am the hard head?

You sound like a major league pussy...blaming the refs. If a team doesn't want the refs to impact the game, DON'T GIVE UP 42 POINTS!!! Get a couple turnovers....Stop them and get the ball back! Don't leave it in the hands of the refs to f*** it up, because they inevitably will. Guaranteed.

And at least you admitted you don't have an original thought.

Okay, let's assume your 2d sentence is true. You win that discussion. We did give up 42 points (which is lower than CC's season average). Now can we go back to the discussion about the blown call and the possible/likely impact on the game. Remember, this is the internet. This is a football message board.

Personally, if I could have a "call" back, I'd want the alleged offsides that wasn't called on the interception. Did the play (or the blown call) have NO impact? No...it had an impact...but it doesn't change the fact that AFTER THE FACT blaming the refs, calling for a congressional inquiry, looking for a peronal apology from the NCAA etc. etc. etc. just makes us come off as sore losers.

I disagree. It's perfectly fine to discuss things like this on the internet. Few people are blaming the refs, other than for a bad call. The refs should be reprimanded.

My take of watching this game from the NEZ? We were horribly out-coached. Leave aside the game planning and cold weather preparations. We had the better athletes on both sides of the ball. They had the better disciplined athletes on both sides of the ball.

I'm not sure I agree with that. They routinely were able to leave their corners on islands and rush 6-7 guys and yet, for some reason, we weren't able to capitalize. Either JJ was blind and didn't see the consistently open reciever downfield or there WASN'T an open receiver and he forced it into single coverage where the receiver was blanketed. Their corners were good....better than ours, I dare say.

Uhh... JJ missed more open receivers than they had open all game... rewatch the game. There was a reason JJ kept checking into deep passes, he just couldn't complete them. Hint: Open means a step ahead of the coverage man/men and almost all his misses were on single coverage where the receiver had a step, in all honesty I give him credit for recognizing the coverage.

And just because their corners are better doesn't mean they have "better athletes." Are you ignoring the fact that we had 4 potential NFL players? I dunno enough about their team but I would be "willing to bet" that they don't have that many :P.

Now you're just messing with me right? I mean, is there NOTHING I can say that you won't disagree with?

It is weird though....the open ones he couldn't hit, and the covered ones they couldn't catch.

And please list the 4 potential NFL players.

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree. It's akin to blaming the field for the 2005 loss to JMU, and akin to the 'scats blaming us stealing their signs last year. The Griz got outplayed for the vast majority of the game and should have lost. And they did. And regardless (as I said in my first post) they were/are fatally flawed and weren't going any further anyway. Hell, let's draw and quarter these refs!

Where's Tokyogriz when you need a good witch hunt!

The JMU game was 2004 and The Griz' stole the Bobcats signs in 2011, but it didn't happen cause that game was never played and has been wiped off the books forever. Just sayin

Too many negatives to understand your first sentence. When in doubt combine negatives to a positive. Enex 101. In fact I believe your sentence actually accuses me of agreeing with you on everything.

I think JJ was off target all game, I've said that multiple times. Our receivers were def open a lot.

And I already listed more than 4, but it's been recorded that at least 4 players have been scouted by the nfl just this year. I rambled on about maybe some possibilities for next year but Tripp, Koyle, Poehls, Kistler have all received scout attention this year. :) Reading the whole thread too hard for you?

I am incorrect in what terms? You're just going to say incorrect? And cool I err'd a spelling mistake on a players name. At least I don't critique "reading comprehension" when odds are you would fail the most basic of English courses.

Sorry dude but your arguments are just getting pathetic now. "I'm incorrect." What? What am I incorrect about? The fact that those players got attention from the nfl? Because all 4 I named, Oiland, and Bienemann are on nfl boards. I'm too lazy to find how many they had but those are just names of our seniors... Sorry if you don't understand the word potential.
Or you're saying I'm incorrect in the fact that our players were open and I disagree with you as did JJ so...yah... Even with your broad statement, you're still wrong

Sorry that you think we're just a dogshit team 1 week after predicting we'd win by 20+

I didn't overestimate Griz abilities...I UNDERESTIMATED Coastal's abilities. Big difference.

Really? So you honestly though a team that "any armchair qb knew was fatally flawed" would beat coastal Carolina by 20+ because of how bad they were?

Wow... So you thought coastal Carolina(10-2) was on the level of play as a weber, North Dakota, idaho state, etc.? Because by your analysis I would say you think the griz are god awful and if we beat someone by 20 they must be bad. Hmm and to think I got flamed prior to the game for telling people they're disrespecting ccu.
To lose to cc was an embarrassment for this program....shows you how far this program and. conference has fallen. The day Delaney was hired was the start of the downfall....most of you won't notice until it's too late and we will be happy being a program that has made the playoffs.

Whoopee fucking doo! Program is hopefully one of the top 24 in the country...hoorah!

And to think, people didn't want to move up because it meant mediocrity.....

Stubbins this program has been down for a decade.

We lose in the playoffs its what we do. Sure most of these tools are happy to "get there" but there really is no sense in getting there if you are guaranteed a bobcat exit.

NDSU expects to win it every year and they are getting it done when they get there. Everyone acts like we are an elite program and its not true, YSU, GSU, App St and now NDSU are elite programs, when they get there they win titles in bunches.

Oh and a preemptive GFY to anyone that asks how long its been since any of those programs have won a title, its almost as long as us so that argument is dead on arrival.

Defense and special teams are the concerns.

I'd keep Gregorak because of the adjustments he's made this year, but I'd have him on a very short leash. We need better overall defensive production, and we need to start games stronger.

Watch how NDSU handles CCU and that will give us a clue about where we need to be.

So please enlighten us on how you keep a coach making jacksquat on a "very short leash"? Do you think UM can actually fire and hire during the course of a season? Like it or not, this staff is going to be back pretty much intact. Hell, what other program would want them?

Yeah, that would be the first time in history that a coordinator's been let go with a few months left on a contract.

I would give my left nut to have won one or two more of the umpteenth million title games we've played in....

That being said, if the last decade has been "down", I wouldn't mind getting back to being "down" for another couple decades...

Points well-taken Alpha, but what are the specific steps the Griz/UM needs to do to get there?

1. Build a dome
2. Paint that dome maroon
3. Put in a Vegas 10,000 Kw AC system to simulate cold weather in that dome
4. Take lessons from NDSU, YSU, GSU & App. on how to be loud and win a lot in that Dome
5. Change out all lights on campus with maroon bulbs
6. Start advertising during the cat games
7. Jingle a set of keys in front of Royce
8. Take "no means no" lessons from MSU
9. When the refs aren't looking, swap out the official NCAA football with the official John Elway whistling nerf football
10. Make a petition to bring back T-Maine Johnson...

BOOM

Yes. To all of the above. And speaking of failing English courses, nice misuse of the word "inclined" a few posts ago.

But hey, I think I get where you're coming from. When I was 22-23, with little/no real world experience, things like this were life and death to me just like this obviously is to you. Someday you'll be my age (in not as many years as you might think) and you'll look back and realize how ridiculous you sounded ranting and raving about referees when their presence had little to do with the ultimate outcome of the game. Makes you look pathetic and shallow....but hey-you're 23, so I'll give you a pass.

But keep arguing, girl. Somewhere there's someone on the internet who's WRONG...and you're just the person to straighten them out! :thumb:
