I honestly thought that was one of the worst looking uniform/helmet combinations I've ever seen the Griz wear. The maroon needs to match if they're going to be wearing their old uni's. Silver pants would have looked quite a bit better than the black pants IMO
Yep... and not the grease rag silver pants either. I understand the "white-out" on the road... SO much easier for JJ, or whomever is slinging the rock, to find receivers.

...could this make up for a weak arm?
It'll help... his accuracy has definitely improved. It's nice to see him throwing 20-30 yards downfield instead of those idiotic bubble screens from the Organ Offense. I still haven't seen anything over 45 yards from his hand to a receiver. Good arm, sure. Big arm, nope.
How many 45-yard passes do you need in a given YEAR, much less in a given game?

Yeah, but they're just recycling uniforms from years past to throw more combinations into the mix (which is fine, I guess). The only thing new that we have seen so far this year are the maroon matte helmets and maroon jerseys from the App game. Not exactly a uniform "rebranding" effort.

From what I understand, and this is coming hearsay from the Nike COO Eric Sprunk, a UM grad, we were outfitted with three new jerseys this season and a couple different helmet options. One that I've heard that makes sense to me is a military appreciation jersey, much like the camo that many teams have worn this season.

We've already seen one new jersey roll out and that is the App State maroon jersey. That leaves one more jersey and based on past years can we assume this is a Cat/Griz special? Or should we assume a black out combo of some sorts? I have no idea what combo will be rolled out as a third new jersey that we haven't seen, but I don't see any reason why we can't filter through old jerseys that many top college programs are still wearing this year in the Nike Flywire jersey with some new helmet combinations.

One item I've heard that came directly from Sprunk (this is all hearsay after all) is that the cats did not make Nike happy by using Under Armour with the new jerseys and staff clothing this year and this has helped us with new equipment and jersey combinations.

All I've heard is hearsay, but personally I'm more concerned with the way that championship ring will look on those players fingers at the end of the season instead of what they will be wearing while winning it.

I would rather see money spent on facilities (weight room) than on appeasing fans with new pants, jerseys, mouthpieces, etc...I would be good with going back to '95 uniforms if Rob still has them in storage. I am pretty sure the U has to be careful. Title IX would require money spent on football (male sport) also be spent on volleyball (female sport). Even if Sprunk is donating all the nike wear, it needs to happen across the board.

Rhinehart, Actually, the unis appease the PLAYERS wearing them. You know, the ones who get concussions, torn acl's, blown achilles tendons, back injuries, staff infection, on and on, and do it all to appease the fans in GRIZ NATION.

And FTR..All Griz sports have the best Nike has to offer. The UM tennis teams have some pretty sweet gear, and even did a throwback themselves last year where in a dual, they wore copper and gold unis. Every UM sport has pretty sweet Nike stuff from what I've seen.

I don't doubt that all of our sports are well taken care of. I worked for Hack and Stack back in the copper, silver, and gold days. I know how resourceful they were and still are. Just sayin' that you can't have everything brand new overnight. The "Eric Sprunk" weight room would be sweet. I have seen Oregon's facilities (training room, indoor practice facility, weight room, lockerrooms, etc... and they are second to none!

Great, down to earth people. Gave my son a job in the equipment room the past five years while he was going to school. Just stopped and said Hi to him last Saturday.

Also saw that Hack, Murph, and doc Curry were all honored at the game Saturday as well. Doctor Curry is amazing. Still calls me by my first name and asks how things are going in CFalls every time I see him.
