It shows on:

...that a Monica Neva lists Montana as a school of interest along with California, UCLA, Utah St. & Washington. She's a 5' 5" PG from Renton, Wash. (Hazen Senior HS). with a 19.0 ppg avg. (Class of 2008).

There is not a team on that list that the LG couldn't compete with on a regular basis.

Interestingly, she's rated as a two-star prospect while other guards she's rated higher than have already committed to either Washington, Santa Barbara, Maine (2) & Georgia Tech.

There's a picture of her on the following link, if one wants to click about seventeen (17) times on the 'next' panel listed under 'Summer Storm 2006' June 23 - 26:

Meant to say Monica Nevi, on another page listed as 5' 7."

http://girlshoops.scout.com/3/girls-recruiting-list.html

...as one of the top 16 evidently in the state of Washington.

Addendum: Junior (Class of 2008) 5' 6" point guard Monica Nevi averaging 20.0 points per game:

I wonder if a player of this altitude could possibly find success in the LG program. As far as I know there may be schools offering but she has yet to sign on with anyone as of yet. From Hastings, Minnesota.

a three star rated player, class of 2007. Do the LG recruit Minnesota?

Joy Anderson is the only former Lady Griz player from Minnesota I remember.

Last night, I came to Missoula to watch the Lady Griz play and I was amazed by how good they really are. The team plays very well together. I was glad to see them beat Northern Arizona and I really loved seeing Britney Lohman get the player of the game.

I should also add that the Griz have done a lot of things right as far as the Adams Center and game atmosphere goes. This was the first game I've ever taken in at the Adams Center and it's a great facility. I also thought the displays of all of the trophies were excellent. You guys have a lot of good things going on in Missoula.

And enjoy this Lady Griz team. They'll be good for quite a while.
