Considering a career average already @ 37 games with 691 points scored @ 18.676 & SC had a career average of 18.724 (2,172 points in 116 g) all MM has to do is average about 19 points a game for the rest of her career to be the LGs leading all-time scorer, yeah I guess so.
[MM should play about the same number of games (116), knock on wood, with 15 + 2(BSC Tournament) this year & with a 29 game regular season now & two games in the BSC Tournament the two years after this, even without going to the NCAAs the same amount of points scored, roughly, could be expected.
What's really amazing is that MM is averaging better than 6.2 assists a game (88/14g) this year, which is better than what Brooklynn Lorenzen did as a sophomore (5.66) and junior (5.53). With her average @ 23.2 & 6.2 assists that's like saying she's responsible for 35 points a game, at least. Over her entire career SC had 421 assists (average of 3.6 over 116 g) + a career average of 18.8 yielding an influence of 26 points a game over her entire career. Of course, those are but statistics & doesn't account for everything, but it is interesting none the less. Both are pretty impressive though. It's good to see some players are catching up to her overall influence upon the game.]
What's needed are other players to step up and compliment such prowess with focus and added scoring (Rogers getting 27 the other nite really helps), defense and ball-handling (20 turnovers in a game isn't going to make it). Not necessarily the same player but any two or three (Closson, Rogers, Lohman, Guardipee, Beck? Snead? Conway? etc.) in any given game to lighten the load so to speak & execute when opponents double team. If the LG get rated in the top 25 & can get past the BSC Tournament then a #8 or #7 seeding could be possible (though hardly absolutely certain @ this stage), which bodes well for a possible first round victory in the NCAAs.
