No we are not a bad football team, right now we are mediocre at best. Lets face it we have not beaten anyone this year that is any good and have lost to the three decent teams we have played. Something is missing--is it leadership, poor coaching, lack of talent, injuries??Whatever it is we have a long ways to go despite having a lot of talent. I personally think we will lose at least one more game and I hate to say this but I think the Kitties are going to give us a much tougher game than most of us expect. It seems to me that many on EGriz are just happy to make the playoffs (assuming we do) and that is not the way it should be. I live in SEC Country and mediocrity does not win over the fan base and coaches get fired on a regular basis when mediocrity seems to be accepted. No I am not suggesting a coaching change at all. We also need to realize that we have a President who is not a fan of football and we also have major declines in enrollment and if that issue is not addressed, the future is not bright at all.
Nobody is "just happy to make the playoffs"....but it is what it is. Pissing and moaning about it ain't gonna change anything. This ain't our year...maybe next year will be, when this very young team is a bit older, more mature, bigger and stronger.
A year older makes you just that, a year older, all the spin on how the oline was soooooo much bigger and stronger this year and how much improved was Stitt-spin.
EWU using 2 redshirt freshman and 2 sophomores on their line handled the Griz front 4 all day long. Sometimes it takes more than age, and weight rooms not sure Stitt and company have that. Team looks good "getting off the bus" but on the field they are being beaten by "good" teams and beating weak ones. NIU win looked good at first but now not so great of win looking at their season. Right now Griz look about same level as MSU when up against good teams. ...and that is scary
