Ladies and Gentlemen, We have a bad football team!

We don't have the kind of team that everyone expects year after year. We are good, we can't win every game with the talent that other teams have this year. People who want to jump ship, are not real fans, just bandwagon fans. Yes the team has troubles, but remember after all they are just kids! My 2 cents worth.

Two types of games you can't lose if you want to be a dominant force.....in state rival and teams from home state you are needing recruits from. So far lost to NAW and EWU which are two very important states in Stitt's recruiting efforts. Tough to sell a kid to move away thus far ftom family if the team in their own state can show them how the beat the Griz.

Lose to NDSU or other non recruiting areas is not as bad as a NAU or EWU loss.

Lost to two rival recruiting area teams already. Better take care of business against N Colo and better DAMN sure beat the Cats.

No we are not a bad football team, right now we are mediocre at best. Lets face it we have not beaten anyone this year that is any good and have lost to the three decent teams we have played. Something is missing--is it leadership, poor coaching, lack of talent, injuries??Whatever it is we have a long ways to go despite having a lot of talent. I personally think we will lose at least one more game and I hate to say this but I think the Kitties are going to give us a much tougher game than most of us expect. It seems to me that many on EGriz are just happy to make the playoffs (assuming we do) and that is not the way it should be. I live in SEC Country and mediocrity does not win over the fan base and coaches get fired on a regular basis when mediocrity seems to be accepted. No I am not suggesting a coaching change at all. We also need to realize that we have a President who is not a fan of football and we also have major declines in enrollment and if that issue is not addressed, the future is not bright at all.

Nobody is "just happy to make the playoffs"....but it is what it is. Pissing and moaning about it ain't gonna change anything. This ain't our year...maybe next year will be, when this very young team is a bit older, more mature, bigger and stronger.

A year older makes you just that, a year older, all the spin on how the oline was soooooo much bigger and stronger this year and how much improved was Stitt-spin. EWU using 2 redshirt freshman and 2 sophomores on their line handled the Griz front 4 all day long. Sometimes it takes more than age, and weight rooms not sure Stitt and company have that. Team looks good "getting off the bus" but on the field they are being beaten by "good" teams and beating weak ones. NIU win looked good at first but now not so great of win looking at their season. Right now Griz look about same level as MSU when up against good teams. ...and that is scary
Then you haven't watched much MSU football this year. There's no comparison.

And is you REALLY believe a year older just makes you a year older please explain how players continue to improve from Their RS year to their senior year? Or is that only players NOT on the Griz?

OMG, this!!! I constantly remind people that we are talking about 18-22 year old kids. They are not always going to win. They are not always going to live up to OUR expectations. But, they are our kids, and we will continue to support the team ... won't we??????

Players get better at different rates based on different coaching ability and maximizing their genetic given ability ceiling. My point was...oline got bigger and older yet still are not as good as 2 RS freshman and 2 sophomores at EWU. Look at EWU's improvement since last year.....not seeing same level of improvement from Griz returners. EWU is playing 2 true freshman running backs and a QB who was no where near player he is this year. Kupp killed us as a freshman. I am not convinced players will improve in one more year enough to male the team a contender (EWU went from 6-5 to #3 in the country in one year and that can't be just getting a year older, it has a lot to do with coaching)

Actually have watched 5 bobcat games and they have improved all year despite injuries and playing very young kids, many out of position due to injuries. Half time if EWU game they were in it....NAU game they were in it even longer. Griz were out of NAU by half, and out if EWU not much after half. Choate wants a Griz win, Gregorak has more experience playing against Stitt (Scrimmages, practices ) than anyone by far so he will have a good game plan. Athletically no way should Griz lose, but so much more to the game and that's starting to show.

Time to stop the moaning and groaning, yes we are not to the level we should be yet and guess what that makes perfect sense. We have not even finished our second season with Stitt and people are already abandoning ship, guess what we are not going to return to championship caliber overnight. We have 3 beatable opponents coming up, we win all three and we are in the playoffs hosting a first round game at 8-3. Here is hoping we can correct our mistakes on offense by the time playoffs come around and make some noise, or if you rather throw in the towel like many of you are doing now.

We are 2-3 in conference! Yay!!!!

We are not even a mediocre team!

I love and support the Griz no matter what, but this team, whether it be coaching or tallet, isn't playing up to snuff.

Stitt is exactly what we should expect, a Div111 level talent. His offense and play calling are below a lot of high school teams, poor is kind! He apparently, doesn't even know what the middle of the field looks like, what happened to the famous "fly sweep" or what ever it was called? Guy isn't in the same league as Eastern's coach.

At only 95% shit, this would become Ace's most accurate post to date.

i think you missed his point regarding your statement.......in bold above.
age also does not equate to improved abilities some kids are with the Griz for 4 years and do not start or get the chance to play.....much
maybe not all day long, but enough to outscore us by more than twice as much, so maybe he/she does have a point, at the very least, to consider.

For all the talk of "rebuilding" -- Stitt inherited some of UM's outstanding WRs by the way and pretty good NFL level talent -- if anybody can claim "rebuilding" and relying on youth and inexperience, it's Beau Baldwin after last year's EWU implosion.

He seems to have it figured out.

If this team turned on itself like the Egriz geniuses have they wouldn't win another game all year. It's bad enough they might have to read this crap on Bobcat Nation if they were foolish enough to go there, but to listen to the cry babies and holier than thou self-proclaimed experts here dis every facet of the team is the saddest state of affairs. Jeez, I'll bet you guys turn on your second graders and their teachers whenever they come home with a "B", because your older kids came home with straight A's...

If you don't think the O-line is performing better this year, you should go back and watch some of last years games and remind yourself of what they looked like. And keep in mind, they may not be the ONLY ones who have gotten better....(meaning, perhaps EWU's D-line got better to? Is that possible?)
