Ladies and Gentlemen, We have a bad football team!

I am disappointed with today's loss but am also offended by a thread title that the GRIZ are a bad team. How comfortable to be able to sit at home or a sports bar, eat and drink and complained about young men getting the shit kicked out of them.

Would this be the same for Sac St? If we call them challenged or less than mediocre or below average or sub-optimal, would you be OK with it? (Note, I don't think the Griz are bad, just average)

The Griz aren't a bad football team. We are a team with above average talent at some positions, but generally average talent at most positions. We are a middle of the pack team in the Big Sky Conference, however, we are dangerous and can beat a top team from time to time.
We are lacking in overall talent compared to the top teams in our conference at all positions.
Finally, the team isn't finely tuned from a coaching perspective as compared to a Bobby Hauck coached team......as they say, down to the nitty gritty....offense, defense, special teams.

RobGriz may be able to give a different perspective, but it also seems that the Griz lack a leader on offense. I don't see BG as a leader.

Great point. BG had his opportunities after the shank punt, turn overs etc. Nothing. I don't think he lost the game for the Griz but he certainly didn't win it....

Excuse me, I don't say much but I watch and listen. I have been major Stitt supporter. I enjoy the talent that is on the field of play for the Griz, I believe that we have the players to have a winning team. But excuse me, The coaching staff owe these players an apology. The execution and of this offense is sad at best. The defense preparation is sad at best.

I'm sure the talent is there, altho some are saying the OL isn't, and that our front 4 defense couldn't pressure the QB. I'll say it: I feel the O needs a sparkplug at QB. Brady isn't getting the job done; no matter how much you understand the system, if you can't execute when it's your responsibility, your knowledge is of no value. I think (ahem!) that Coach should start Chalich, an entirely different and more mobile QB than Brady. DD wasn't 6' 7" & was mobile as hell.

We are 2-3 in conference! Yay!!!!

We are not even a mediocre team!

I love and support the Griz no matter what, but this team, whether it be coaching or tallet, isn't playing up to snuff.

And they lost to what I would consider 3 more talented teams on the road. They just might be playing up to snuff.

No we are not a bad football team, right now we are mediocre at best. Lets face it we have not beaten anyone this year that is any good and have lost to the three decent teams we have played. Something is missing--is it leadership, poor coaching, lack of talent, injuries??Whatever it is we have a long ways to go despite having a lot of talent. I personally think we will lose at least one more game and I hate to say this but I think the Kitties are going to give us a much tougher game than most of us expect. It seems to me that many on EGriz are just happy to make the playoffs (assuming we do) and that is not the way it should be. I live in SEC Country and mediocrity does not win over the fan base and coaches get fired on a regular basis when mediocrity seems to be accepted. No I am not suggesting a coaching change at all. We also need to realize that we have a President who is not a fan of football and we also have major declines in enrollment and if that issue is not addressed, the future is not bright at all.

Nobody is "just happy to make the playoffs"....but it is what it is. Pissing and moaning about it ain't gonna change anything. This ain't our year...maybe next year will be, when this very young team is a bit older, more mature, bigger and stronger.

So? Are you saying a DD type QB isn't possible for the Griz? What's your point, if any?

"Bad" teams don't get to the playoffs... so your premise is off.

Yes an 8-3 UM gets in, probably hosts and then it depends on the matchup.

A year older makes you just that, a year older, all the spin on how the oline was soooooo much bigger and stronger this year and how much improved was Stitt-spin. EWU using 2 redshirt freshman and 2 sophomores on their line handled the Griz front 4 all day long. Sometimes it takes more than age, and weight rooms not sure Stitt and company have that. Team looks good "getting off the bus" but on the field they are being beaten by "good" teams and beating weak ones. NIU win looked good at first but now not so great of win looking at their season. Right now Griz look about same level as MSU when up against good teams. ...and that is scary
