Kyon Clark officially decommitts

Something tells me there is another side to this story from Coach Stitt and staff. If so, hopefully we will learn what it is on or after Feb. 4--I suspect we will when some reporter asks Coach Stitt about Kyon Clark.

Their side is that they wanted to use the schollie differently...no big deal...and I highly doubt that even if the question is asked, that there will be any different answer

Well, we are still recruiting Mau Ena as a DT from Calif., so something apparently happened to steer Stitt and staff away from Clark.

Maybe Ena quietly verballed, maybe we landed Sims and ran out of $, maybe something else, but apparently something happened for us to pull the offer to Clark yet to still be aggressively recruiting another DT from Calif.

Kid quoted here as saying it would be a "no-brainer" if Cal or UCLA came calling, so his commitment to montana meant nothing until he realized they weren't offering. Ask the outraged coach to explain that. It's clearly noted that his weight (354) is a concern which made an offer a big risk. And don't hold your breath on an explanation - Stitt is not allowed to comment.

So the university should honor the commitment he wouldn't have. Yeah, not so much. Good luck one and all.

I swear Chris should shut the site down for a month before signing day, would keep the lunacy to a manageable level.

Think of this whole recruiting process like a High School Prom because that's what it is.

-The really popular good looking guys lock up the hot girls (FBS lock up 2+star recruits). When this date is made it is a done deal.

-The likeable guys with good personalities lock up the likeable girls with good personalities, and snag an occasional hottie. (Upper FCS locks up any ranked recruit that slipped through the cracks and the best prospects still on the board). When this date is made it is fairly solid, but the hotter the girl the better the chance of her jumping at an A-list date, not too cool but considered more acceptable than a guy doing the exact same thing. Guys in this category know that if they snag someone that appears out of their league they are on treacherous ground.

- The average guys get the average girls, but sometimes for whatever reason an average guy will snag a hottie. (Mid FCS get the next level of talent and usually a few really good recruits for reasons like family history, location, etc...) The hotties who are going with these guys are there for a reason, and aren't changing partners for any reason. The rest of the girls however, are fair game and are looking for the NBT. These guys don't feel safe until their date is in the car on Prom Night.

-The other guys...well, all the girls want to go to Prom so there are options.

In the end I really don't feel bad about the players who have decided to go elsewhere, I want players who are sold and really want to be here, and don't just "settle" for Montana because they didn't land where they wanted to. The closer to signing day they bail the more it hurts the program, it's not easy getting a decent date the night before Prom.

I posted this on the Fire Stitt thread, which was locked, so will post it here.

WTH, fire Stitt for a few recruits changing their minds, and him pulling an offer from another recruit. Hell, we don't know the whole story. To me that is likely a good sign. Just a guess on my part, another recruit or few have committed to the GRIZ, and actually waiting until signing day to make it official. What a concept, keeping a signing quiet until signing day...lol.

I am sure the coaching staff has a much better idea how much Clark was wavering. Is it possible that Clark was using the GRIZ for leverage, and his heart just was not into being a GRIZ? If that is the case, do you really want a player here that really does not want to be here. Is it possible the GRIZ staff sensed that? If Clark is as good as his rating and hype, then he will turn out just fine elsewhere. I wish him the best, where ever that might be.

Yet, today Mau Ena's uncle complimented how impressive Stitt was. Some of you anti Stitt guys really do need to get off the pot, or take a Stitt?
