Yawn . . . . . It is Cat week. I didn't come here to hear about Samson.
Justin Green, just throwing a name out there.I highly doubt Hauck would be willing to train his replacement. Maybe I’m wrong.
There's probably one person who he'd be willing to do that for....currently has spent a couple seasons on PSU's staff. In theory they could be hired next season and have 3 to 4 years to "learn the ropes" if they so chose.I highly doubt Hauck would be willing to train his replacement. Maybe I’m wrong.
I love Justin, but I think we need someone who has coached multiple positions and coached at a variety of places. A fresh perspective would probably be….healthy.Justin Green, just throwing a name out there.
I remember a newspaper article from I think the Spokesman Review titled “Idaho Caught With Their Pants Down” and how Tom Cable and his team got snookered by a team without a healthy QB. I’ve tried to find the article but have been unsuccessful. Both Ochs and Disney were on IR. Fortunately, the game came after a by week so the team had two weeks to install the option. I’m sure Sampson knew as much about running it as the coaches since he ran it at Helena Capital for 4 years. Funny watching him go under center, he was so small, he disappeared from the defense’s view darn near. Great contribution from a freshman.Just remember--" We don't have the personnel to run the option! "
GRIZ HC Bobby Hauck, Sept. 2003 responding to a reporter during game week before sending a small but also very fast Kyle Sampson into the game against FBS Idaho @ WA-GRIZ to run the option-- very successfully![]()

So it was Bobby who named Stitt the head coach, after all! Makes sense--he knew BS would muck it up and he'd be called on to come back in and straighten things out. Smart! #backtothefutureunderrated post.
Not to mention that he had a terrific player at wide receiver who had excelled at the option in high school--Jefferson Heidelberger--who took the opening play from scrimmage 80 yards for a TD to set the tone for the game.I remember a newspaper article from I think the Spokesman Review titled “Idaho Caught With Their Pants Down” and how Tom Cable and his team got snookered by a team without a healthy QB.
