Kyle Samson Coaching

Is there a chance that Hauck looks into hiring this guy to eventually be his predecessor? Listen, before you roast me, I'm a Hauck guy, I think he's an elite coach who does a great job. I'm thinking long term here. Kyle has had remarkable success with Montana tech. He's dominating the montana recruiting tree, and has tech firing on all cylinders. Could he be the next guy to take over for Hauck? How do we get this guy on staff and in line to take over for when Hauck is ready to be done coaching? Or if Hauck somehow falls off? Don't roast me, I've just been impressed with Samson and his ability to build a roster and dominate at his level. Could he be the next griz coaching legend? Start pushing to get him that's my take.

They’re going to have to carry BH out in a box to get him to leave. 😂 Let’s hope it doesn’t happen anytime soon, just sit back and enjoy the ride….Maybe take some Dramamine first, all the same, just enjoy the ride.

Samson isn't a big time coach. Tech is having a nice season but he's not a great gameday coach. He panics under pressure. He would not survive at a big time program. Maybe he could be brought in as a coordinator but he's not the guy for UM trust me.

Someone on here mentioned Hauck saying something about Coaching until he was 65? If true it means we've still got him for 4 more years and by then the coaching landscape and CFB as whole will have changed drastically (more Conference Realignment, potential breakaway etc.)

If Hauck brought Samson in, Hauck would probably just sneak him in during a game, maybe against Idaho.

Just remember--" We don't have the personnel to run the option! "

GRIZ HC Bobby Hauck, Sept. 2003 responding to a reporter during game week before sending a small but also very fast Kyle Sampson into the game against FBS Idaho @ WA-GRIZ to run the option-- very successfully 👍 😀 .

He's a former GRIZ, played under Bobby, has done very well in high school and Frontier Conference, knows Montana like the back of his hand, so I would think if he puts his name in the hat, he would have to be at least considered.

These threads crack me up. We find a coach within 100-mile radius of UM to be a successor. It's kind of like grabbing $20 off the restaurant table next to yours in order to pay your tip.

Samson is doing great. Greatest coach a half tank of gas can get you to since Mike Van Diest.

Every spring I look at the incoming Griz to see how many option ball recruits we have, all because of 2003.

I didn't say to take over for hauck right away. But this guy can recruit big time. I don't follow tech close, so I don't know all about him, other than he's having success and I know he's getting most of the MT recruits. So he has to be doing something right?

The case could be made that most montana recruits aren't D1 athletes.

I find the "I don't know much about him, but he would make an awesome coach after BH" quite impressive.
