He axed some of the people that needed to go, now he just needs to cut ties with Maes and Foley so we can start over with people who wont pressure the new AD and HC to return to the same old criminal mindset that has been here the last decade.
This guy is a breath of fresh air and its the first time UM has done the right thing in many many years.
My hat is off to you sir, keep up the SUPERIOR performance.

It may not be popular, but in all reality, he likely made the right one. He knows more about the whole situation than anyone on this board. Some of it is still likely to come out. Some of never will due to privacy issues. I am sure he did not make it lightly and he gave it a huge amount of thought and weighed out all the legal aspects of it.
In a way smaller world here, I did the same thing as Engstrom. A huge problem which stayed consistant, and was poo-poo'ed off and covered up, led me to calling in the investigators. I fired the person who was in charge immediately. I doubt Engstrom is a micro-manager of the athletic department and entrusts the people who work for him... as did I in my case. When it gets to the point that the BS is hurting the department and the city, you only have one choice. The greater whole comes first. And if some coffee drinker in the rusty zipper club is DEMANDING an explanation... I'll give him the proper answer, "I did what was best for the City. We're moving on." With lawsuits possible, that's all a position of leadership can give. The fired have personal rights too.grizatwork said:I don't know. Engstom is new to the job.
