krykso's bucks

had a shot in the lottery at oden or durant, franchise players that might have guaranteed a dynasty for the bucks under krysko, but instead fall from third to sixth in the lottery, where one expert has them taking al horford from florida. so larry joins the celtics and the memphis grizzlies as big losers in this lottery.

the bucks intentionally tanked more than anyone else. as much as i like LK, they deserve the spot they ended up with.

No, they really were that bad, especially with the key players missing.

They key players were missing (at the end of the season) because of tanking. They pulled bogut and villanueva (I think it was him, maybe Redd, who was legitimately injured earlier in the season) down the stretch to lose games.

That is standard operating procedure in the NBA. EVERY team did the same, that is simply facts jack.

The injuries were ridiculous. When your 3 leadings scorers go out (one of whom averages 30PPG, and another from the most important position on the floor), you can't expect a whole lot.

Even though they dropped, they are still in an excellent position. They didn't need Oden as bad since they have Bogut, and they have scoring in Michael Redd, so Durant doesn't even help a whole lot.

With Villanueva, they don't really need another PF.

I think they will be able to get a steal in Corey Brewer and put themselves in the playoffs next year. IMO, Brewer will have a quicker impact than either Durant or Oden.

The abilities that he has at 6'8" are unreal, and he has that winning attitude and history to back it up. Horford or Jeff Green would be my next two hopes for that Milwaukee team.

The Bucks have some key pieces in place (only 1 year removed from the playoffs remember) and one more addition will help them climb out of that 7/8 spot and have the potential to win a first round series in a weak Eastern Conference.

Think about this when you talk about benching injured players:

If you had one of your best players constantly fighting a nagging injury and you were eliminated from the playoffs, why would you continue to put them through the risk of re-aggravating or worsening the injury?

Good point, I would not risk further injury either. Look for Stern to tweak the Lottery system so there is less incentive to "tank" as others refer to is as.

They tanked. It's interesting how only the GM -- the guy with his job still on the line -- is the only one quoted in stories on the injuries. Injured in practice, convenient.

I'm just saying, they didn't deserve it.

I would say that the people who are paying for tickets to watch games care if a team is tanking or not. Prices are set for games where players are to be playing at their peak, not putting out their minimal efforts. That's where I have a problem with teams tanking games.

The way the system is setup, the fans want the teams to lose if there is a chance they can move up in the draft. I kn ow it sounds weird, but I live in a city where it happenned this year. They boo when you win.

boo for a win? What team was this for?

i really dislike teams tanking for lottery picks but i guess you can't blame them. i hope they can change things up a bit to discourage this
