Kittens vs. Western Illinois Game Thread (Official Troy Anderson Thread)

239 yards of TO for Cats. WIU had 317.

2 picks by Cats. Edit: 1 turnover by Cats.

Anderson was 12-21 for 81 yards. 24-145 rushing. Edit: 1 pick.

Cats better improve offense if they are going to win games. They miss Murray.

Well, let’s hope that WIU doesn’t clean up the shitty line play, stupid penalties and poor clock management for the game against us. Congrats to the cats for finding a way. WIU looked awful except for #5.

Cats had one turnover via interception.

I'm a bit surprised that the fans didn't tear down the goalposts. Great halftime adjustments by the staff. Great kicking. Fun game to watch.

Cats have crappy coaches and frickin' tough effing players.

Agree the players are tough. Don’t agree about Gregorak. He can coach defense quite well. Definitely needs a haircut and new glasses though.

Some must have watched a different game then I did. Cats suck but they played pretty well in the second half.

Offense was downright awful in the first half...and they still pulled out a victory. A big change from the prior two years. The funny thing about Troy is that despite how much has change for him over the past two years since high school...he still QB'ed a game almost identical to how he did it at Dillon: slow first halfs/electric second halfs. MSU's offense has a ton to improve on as a whole unit (finding their identity) but they still pulled out a win against a playoff team from last year. Proud of the boys.

WIU had 119 yards in 2d half, on 40 plays. Under 3 yards per play. Good D by the Cats.

Cat kicker was the star of game.

No. 5 is very good for WIU.

I still can't believe how bad WIU looked as the game went on.

Not saying we'll beat them, since it's on the road, and until they prove otherwise, we're still the "Road Griz", but I feel a LOT better about that game than I did a few hours ago.

Cat D was terrific in 2d half.

Happy that you pulled out a win against a Mo Valley team. That makes us all look good. State did just enough to win. Be careful, though. That qb is taking a LOT of punishment. If any defense can force him to pass then you guys have problems. Love his moxie, but he’s not going to be long for this game if he keeps it up like he is.

Great hard fought win by the Cats. And Ty. And Troy.

Choate could be described as Hauck 2.0. Tough football in the trenches. Good special teams. Win turnover battle, and give yourself a chance at the end of the game. Anderson at qb tonight was like Samson against Idaho. Should be a fun tough game for brawl of the wild.

The difference is that Hauck didn't commit himself to Samson and the Triple Option for the whole year.

They looked pretty good, especially in the second half, but they'll definitely lose some games where the offense just doesn't do anything.

Anderson's deep ball is objectively awful.
