We're not just sitting at the park waiting for Gwen Stefani to walk by and ask for our hand in marriage, right? That would be what an idiot would do.
So other than waiting for Gwen, what should be done? Because I totally agree with all the arguments for moving up. Of course the administration is totally in the "waiting for Gwen" mode and why shouldn't they be (I'm not sure it is idoitic). Currently the administration has no incentive to move up because 20,000 or so blindly support the Griz beating Northwestern Bumwad State 55 -3. Stands are full so why rock the boat. I'd wager that 20,000 would watch the Griz play an out of conference schedule of Sentinal, Hellgate, and Big Sky for a while. And its another Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirst Down Grizzlies.
So what can those who want to move up and watch some competitive football really do? Until fans, season ticket holders and donors, and that would include many posters on e-griz, quit supporting the sub-par excuse that FCS has become, and make that clear to the administration, we can all go pound sand and take it out on the significant other of choice. And just to make it clear I have no idea whether withdrawing support would actually work either - might make some like me feel better about being proactive but I actually don't think a whole lot of Montana folks care whether we compete with Colorado State or College of N. Idaho. But right now too many want it both ways. If you want another FCS championship then I think the time is coming when you may be very happy - right after NDSU and SDSU move up and the Cats source of PED's dries up. If you wan't to watch competitive football well that's another story.
