Keep an eye on

It seems like Bobby Kennedy agreed with most of what Schmidt said as well. Recruiting philosophy being more centered around Montana high school players and changing how strength and conditioning is managed are the 2 changes I have heard him say he will be making. These were also the 2 things Schmidt was hammering the hardest all season.
But I would argue many on egriz have argued the same for a couple years.

So we are supposed to think a former Griz player is to be dismissed versus a cling on old man whose head is up the hind end of every coach? Weird.
Yes, I know the Gillman family and neither you nor the bench warmer do. My occasional Gillman info comes mostly from the family. I've never talked to a coach about Eli, ever. You should pay attention if you want to know more about what goes on inside Griz nation. Nothing I saw about the Griz is made or a lacks direct, good or pretty good authority or knowledge, unless I hedge in my wording. That's why so many in egriz follow what I say, because they know they can rely on it. Others on egriz know the Gillman family well or pretty well too, and have very good info on the Griz.

Well... he is out there on X panic pushing our all american running back hitting the portal... incorrectly. for "likes" maybe?... I'm not sure why.
I like Andrew, but yeah this whole thing was very shitty. I get that he wants to act as a certain persona, but I don't think that jives with also trying to break news. There's a reason Colter found 34 sources before he reported Hauck was retiring.

Way to disrespect and ex-griz who bled and sweat for his grizzlies teammates..

Theres an old saying "once a griz always a griz" it fits him 100%, not you.. remember that!!!
He's been a jerk towards me and for no reason at the start. I have known him since he played high school ball with my nephew. I now know that many of his teammates didn't really like him in college, nor do they include him in their group communications now. I found it odd that he accused me a couple times on egriz of having dementia, when I knew that his dad, my age, is in a memory care home. Seemed like that was disrespecting his dad and his situation. All of my Bozeman family knows or knows of him. He was invited to my nephew's wedding, where we talked. I know some of Schmidt's teammates alot better than he does. How well do you know Schmidt? Maybe you should talk about something you know something about.

I didn't hear BK say what he would or might "change". Don't recall hearing the word, but I listening from hot tub in AZ, so may have missed it. And missed the first few minutes. You don't know how Hauck and UM have been recruiting MT. I know a number of current coaches, including 2 big AA coaches, as well as many former coaches. Have current and former head coaches of MT schools in the family. It's BS to say that UM and the coaches weren't significantly recruiting MT. But, obviously, a new head coach combined with new assistants will cause some things to change and they will make changes.

I'd be shocked if he isn't getting serious offers from FBS teams. I think he's better than most RB's at that level. As a Cat, I hope he does leave. He's scary every time he touches the ball. What would be the reason he stays? I love loyalty but the amount of cash throw to these kids is insane.

Wait, wait, wait...

Honestly I don't much care about this pissing match, but let's recall that by his own admission, Colter isn't a journalist, but rather an entertainer

I don’t know, things change in life. It’s weird. Like nothing lasts forever and Bobby wasn’t going to be here forever. Mind boggling how people get stuck in the now and have no vision for the future. Maybe people should look beyond one year and think 3-5 out. Seems like that’s been the problem for the Griz and fans. Living in the past and it shows. Losing Eli would suck, but it isn’t the end of the world. The program continues and Kennedy just needs to find players.
Thanks. That answers what I was wondering. To that crowd, getting BH out in the short term would be worth losing impact players.

As a Cat fan, Big Sky fan, and FCS fan, I hope he stays.

This is spot on. Echo what was said at the PC: No one person is bigger than the program. Does anyone think Eli would be successful running against a D like Miami?

He was advised by Eddie George last year to stay at UM, trust the UM coaches who have terrific NFL contacts, rack up some more stats and awards, and not to get beat up in FBS. I assume he wants to make the Senior Bowl and maybe get to the Combine, increase his NFL draft status, and get drafted a bit higher. Thus, increasing his signing bonus and perhaps rookie contract, and increasing his NFL prospects. My understanding is that making the Senior Bowl is based, at least in part, on a formula of some sort (i.e. similar to what NFL teams use to evaluate talent), and he's likely on track to do that. Cash now is one thing, but making the NFL as a decent draft choice and then sticking for a number of years, is presumable better. And yes, Gillman was offered a ton of money last season, and presumably this season.

I hate being negative on here and I try to be positive most of the time to support our team, players and coaches and all who make The University of Montana a great place. But Andrew is a straight up douchebag. It was kinda funny when Colter first had him on his show in the beginning. They can say it's all an act for views, clicks and attention, but he truly is a piece of shit. I'm not going to go list all the things he's done and said over this past year because I did it in another thread during the season. I've never seen a former player of the Griz act and behave in the way he does. People like him are a cancer to any team or program and I hope Colter really takes a step back and wises up and rethinks about continuing to have him on his show. He and a few others on this site that he converses with regularly to shit on the program, players and coaches are just pathetic. I will never support anything he's apart of and whoever's podcast he goes on.

Here’s my take….

If Eli was going to bounce it would have been when Justin announced his leaving to WSU. Justin is 100% the reason Eli ended up in MT to begin with and Eli and the entire Gillman family have been vocal about that. They absolutely love and adore him. Eli announced he was staying even after Justin left, so that speaks volumes. He then got on a podcast with Becton and talked directly about why he is staying. I don’t think Hauck leaving has any impact on all of this. Justin’s leaving had me way more nervous for Eli than Hauck leaving. Seems like Dawn Gillman slapped down the rumor from Shit Stirrer Schmidt pretty quickly last night. That guy is an idiot.

I agree with this post. I don’t see how his comments help promote the program.
I also wonder how he has soo much time on his hands as a lawyer. Every Lawyer I deal with on a daily basis are busy with huge caseloads.
