Just a little Grizzification....

I know that this isn't Griz football related, but it was certainly inspired by Griz football. If the mods want to move it to another section, no problem, I just thought some of you might like to see it.

I commute to work on my bike every day. After seven years, my old commuter was on its last legs, so I decided I needed a new bike, and chose to build it up myself from parts bought locally and on the internet. Of course, I had to personalize it, and what better way than with my obsession with all things Griz?

Decals were designed and applied by me and produced by my son-in-law.

Anyway, here are some pics of the just-completed bike, which got its first real ride today:

Oops. Now you all know my real name. Not that it was a big secret.

The full fenders are a dead give-away and concession to where I live--Portlandia.

Nice. Are those Sram Doubletap shifters?

They're actually Microshift Arsis shifters. Microshift is one of the also-ran bike parts manufacturers, but their stuff is pretty decent, and produced in Taiwan like a lot of famous makers' bike parts. This is the top of the line shifter-derailleur setup from them, which I was able to get for less than I would have paid for a mid-line Shimano setup.

They're set up a little differently than either Shimano, SRAM, or Campagnolo's shifters, so it's a bit of a training period for me to get used to them. A smaller button over the main paddle (shift to small ring and large ring, respectively), and the brake lever only acts as the brake, not as a shifter paddle.
