Jordan Sullivan

WOW, that is great news, Robin has put together quite a class this year. She is the highest rated of the recruiting class. It looks like this class will have some very high expectations.

seems to me there's a great irony here, which is that montana's a.a.u. team was put together in large part to give montana girls the national recognition they hadn't been getting, and hence more scholarship offers from the bigger schools. we all knew four years ago that montana was going to produce a great recruiting class, and you had to think that with the a.a.u. exposure it'd be a lot tougher for selvig to recruit this top montana talent. but except for joslyn, the attitude of jordan sullivan and others of this class seems to be, we've played together as a team for years now, and wouldn't it be fun to continue this together at the collegiate level. since that's not possible anywhere but montana, it seems that this--together with the incredible familial ties--really worked to selvig's advantage.

i'm as thrilled as anybody with the quality of successive classes now, and yet the deficiencies that have been mentioned here remain--the lack of a really tall post player and of a super-quick pure point guard. this almost assures that montana keeps the momentum going as the dominant big sky power. question is, will be able to compete in those key first-found games, one of which most assuredly willbe against joslyn and the stanford cardinal. i hope the next recruiting class addresses some of these deficiencies.

and before we get too giddy about this class, let me issue two words of caution: tricia binford. i believe she's a rising star in the women's coaching ranks, and while selvig picked the montana talent pretty much clean this year, don't be surprised to see this woman pull a few rabbits out of the hat--or maybe koala bears. she may not be able to recruit montana but she sure seems to be developing a pipeline to australia, in much the manner rob ash is recruiting texas. both those could turn out to be rich recruiting territories.

Very nice post, City....hope springs eternal...I wish I shared your enthusiasm, but lost in the first game of the NCAAs where it was not the players but the coaching or lack thereof, that proved ineffective.

Great News for the LG and Montana fans. Obviously Joslyn was the most talented player on those AAU teams, but to have basically the rest of the "stud" players come to Montana is huge. I am and always have been ecstatic about LG Basketball, but there are some exciting days to come for Robin and the LG program.

Good to see Jordan Sullivan join in the rest of the State of Montana recruits for 2010 signing period.

this coming year, there will only be 5 players out of 13 from the state of Montana. For all the years I have watched the Lady Griz play from the Sandy Selvig days to the coming Carly Selvig-Jordan Sullivan Days, I have seen very few Lady Griz teams with more out of state players than instate. Less than a hand full of teams with more out of state players if there were any.

This next signing period is going to balance that out to the more normal Robin Selvig roster with more instate than out of state players.
