Oh, we understand. We just think you are missing the point about Kemp.

The last I heard over 50% of the people living in the US are female, so mathematically you have eliminated 1/2 of the possible candidates. But I infer from your sexist comment that that is just fine because all women are not capable of shouldering the responsibilities that might befall an AD. I am sure you have been following the Penn State scandal- question: How many women were involved in all or any stages of that hideous situation?Growler1 said:Spanky said:Growler....hopefully, you aren't correct about hiring Gee. If Engstrom does make her permanent AD, Engstrom should be tared and feathered and run out of town.
No woman should EVER been the AD of a Division I school.
Mark, I fail to see what the European Union has to do with this, and I believe, they care more about "soccer" than "football."mark dyba said:Sad to see a large story in Coeur d' Alene paper this morning, about the dysfunctional football rogram at Montana.
E. U. must be eating it up. For myself I hated to see it in the press. By the way the EU field gives me a head ache everytime I watch a game there. Someone should be shot for that ugly place.

We who have stated that the point is Mr. Kemp breaking a team rule, not public relations.

Try staying on point... By now you should know, but apparently don't. that it is not about guilt or innocence, but the piss poor way it is being adjudicated. So far both Johnson and Kemp have been judged to a greater degree by the court of public opinion while the BOR, Engstrom et waffle about mired in enertia. Even you AWF, committing the egregious act of littering would deserve your timely day in court. Read all of my 1:26 PM offering...probably for the first time.

O'Day was over his head too. He was unqualified to be the AD. He would have been great as head of fund raising.
If tradition holds, it will be Jean Gee being named permanent AD. UM practices nepotism and always hires from within. This incestuous in-breeding has caused many of the problems we face today. I have been a staunch critic of this practice for many years.

I see them as young men who for one reason or another have stepped across the big white line in the sand. They have violated one rule or another. Is it tweets, being in the wrong place, or whatever their misdeed is their actions have put them there. One easy way to make sure that Kemp or Johnson or anyone else for that matter isn't on the political crap list is not do the stuff they aren't supposed to do in the first place.
This isn't Gee's, Engstroms or someone elses misdoings that put them there. Lets not forget that. I think we do because it seems that we all want to do what Penn State and other colleges have done for decades, which is not holding people accountable for their behavior. Even if Kemp and Johnson didn't do what they were accused of, they and they alone made some questionable decision making to put themselves there. They made their own bed.
I am sympathetic to their plight and they both should get their ability to present their case, but not at the expense of brushing stuff under the rug anymore. Like it or not, this is not the climate for patience and prudence. They and others have been crossing that white line entirely too often and faced little or no punishment for those misdeeds. So if that means for the time being Kemp, Johnson and others are shown the door for incredibly poor judgement than that is how it needs to be for a while. There cannot be stink attached to this program from here on out or the political winds will make sure the program will ensure they are given the death penalty and play in front of sparse crowds and no scholarships.
This isn't about wins and losses. This isn't about starting quarterbacks, the football program or some political gambit. All about doing things the right way and with a clear white line that these players know not to cross.

Silvertip said:Why do so many egrizzers continue to miss the point :?: From Engstrom running on down the pecking order to Delaney and Gee it has not been the right or wrong of the decisions, but the abysmally horrible way in which they've been executed! Really. How hard is that to understand?
From Ol Royce canning two high profile administrators together and without the presence of a third witnessing party or an exit strategy to the Saudi student gaff to Mick and Jean stumbling all over themselves with the Kemp matter we have consumate amateurs dealing in matters at the highest level at UM. The snippet about Kemp's dismissal followed on the same page with a couple of lines saying "it might not be so" also showed up in today's Denver Post. A smug RE continues to sit silently in his Main Hall office while a growing legion at home and abroad wonders what the hell is going on with UM?
The answer: Nothing good.

I'm with you guys too, for whatever it's worth...
And that doesn't mean I'm passing any kind of judgment on JJ or Kemp. I don't even know what Kemp's "team rules violation" was, and there are legitimate questions about whether JJ's situation was handled in a way that didn't violate his due process rights. Both of them are entitled to their day in...not "court," but they're entitled to whatever process their respective situations allow them. But if, after exhausting that process, the result is that they're no longer members of the Griz football team, then that's the way it is, and it's the right result. The players need to realize that the environment at UM is changing, and they have to behave accordingly.

Oh, and inertia starts with an 'i.'
Day in court? For violating a team rule? Don't make me laugh!
